Dice-K isn't dead though. Last year, Lester was in a similar situation, he'd be great, and then give up six in an inning. If Dice-k was a horrible pitcher, they'd be hitting him every inning, instead of just that one. What extends the situation is that the first time he pitched, he got lit up when he got to around 80 pitches-- the most he'd thrown thus far this season. The second was a situation where it took him an inning to get his control together.

 

The point of the "one bad inning" is that he's capable of being dominant, even if in spurts.

The encouraging thing is his velocity has been consistently 92-93 and he is throwing strikes. His pitch count is usually this high after 2 innings.
