Okay, so if I obtained for example, Michael Irvins address and flew to his house and knocked on the door, do you think he would autograph a football for me?

Well, this may sound odd, but I have a football autographed by almost every player on the U from their elite teams and I don't want to risk sending him the football in the mail and i don't know how else to get it signed. So opinions? Or suggestions?

I personally wouldn't go to his house, I don't think he'd appreciate that. He doesn't seem like the type to wanna stop snorting coke off a hooker's ass to sign a football.

Don't do it man. I stopped by Izzy Alcantara's house. I regretted it the moment he opened the door and drop kicked me in the chest. (I think he does that to Girl Scouts and Jehovahs Witnesses too. Then again, I do that to JWs too).

And don't get me started on what happened when I rang Billy Beane's doorbell...

One of the few autographs that I have obtained in person is Michael Irvin's. Here's how it happened. It might work for you. We went to this place called the Dallas Cowboy Cafe. It's owned by two former Cowboys, and many of the Cowboys are there on Thursday night. I went there years ago when Irvin was still playing. A civilian (i.e. Non football player) is not to engage or bother a player in any way or you will be thrown out. At closing time, we went over to Michael's table and mentioned to one of the ladies that our kids were big fans. He wouldn't even look at us, even though he heard the conversation. We asked her if she thought he would give us an autograph. She tapped him on the arm and asked him to give us an autograph. He was not too pleased, but he was not at all nasty about it. He signed with his jersey #. The owners came over as we were getting the autograph and asked us to leave. We got it and left. Good luck.

Just add another X. Nobody will know the difference.

I saw Michael Irvin at Disney World when I was like 10. We were at some indoor video game exhibit or something and his daughters were playing ahead of us. They got up and a few minutes later we noticed they had left a purse, so we took it over to him and he was real nice and thanked us. He may be a dick for all I know, but he was nice that day at least. There were some other people badgering him for autographs about that time, but I could tell he was just trying to relax with his family so I didn't bother with it.

Don't go to his house. That's the most obnoxious thing to do. An athlete's house is the one place where they can fully enjoy their privacy and personal time. When that gets jeopardized I doubt they respond positively.

Celebrities love stalkers. It helps reassure them that they've "made it" -- so my advice is to find his home and hide in his bushes.

Enough of this guy for tonight. Let Wakefield bring in his gasoline can. Schoenweiss is up in the Pen with a can of kerosene and matches.

 \ Quick question regarding players addresses

Suggestion Number One:

Get a girlfriend.

I have one, thanks buddy.

Very cool story, Michael doesn't seem like the nicest guy and I've had trouble trying to even find signings for him, Id actually be willing to pay for one of those professional signings so I could finish this football, I've been trying for a few years now and the reason I brought up his house was because I don't know where else to meet him.

Does that cafe have a website by any chance?

Um, its not to sell or anything so why would I care if other people thought it was legit or not? Its for my personal collection. I collect sports merchandise.

Some people have fun just going to games, I have fun at games but I also like interacting with some of the players, you know talking a little, getting an autograph, most of the players are very nice about it. However, some are *******s. My nicest experiences were with Myron Rolle (when he was in college a few years ago), Bill Mueller and the nicest guy I ever met was oddly enough Milton Bradley. You guys might not believe this, but when Bradley is off the field and not under any pressure he is one of the nicest guys in the whole world, I was at a Rangers/Mariners game a few years ago due to me taking a trip to Texas because i have family there and he was nice, talking to fans, goofing around and signing autographs. Its just on the field hes a nut.

Thats very cool, a few years ago I was also in Disney world (or land? I forget, the one in Florida though) and I saw Shaq there, he was getting crowded by people and then off all sudden he says with a very deep voice "Hey, I just wanna fun, I'm a kid for the day, I want you guys autographs" Then he gave some guy in a mickey mouse custom a pen and paper and got his autograph, it made my day

Any other ideas then?

I can't believe that A) the thought of going and knocking on Michael Irvin's door occurred to you, and B), you shared that idea with us. Get a life dude and stop stalking ******* football players.

You missed my joke. It was a reference to some of the illiterate criminals who have played football for the U. ("Just add another X. Nobody will know the difference.")

I'm imagining this being said with enormous lisp for some reason.

Why are people so obsessed with autographs?

Good question. I'm not opposed to them or anything, but I'd much rather just meet an athlete and shake his hand/get a picture than get an autograph.
