Has anyone else noticed who now leads the majors in AVG? Since the Yankees dealt Austin Jackson and Ian Kennedy for Curtis Granderson (.225/.311/.375, currently on the DL) Jackson has blossomed into one of baseball's most exciting young players. He's hit .377/.427/.526 on the year so far as a rookie while playing a superb center field.

He's the current favorite to win RoY, and is one of the top young players to keep on eye on this year.

Wow Dutchy/Imperial, really trying to stick it to Yankee fans... not difficult to see your motives here. Baiting is annoying, whether you're a Sox fan or not.

I don't know about that, you'd think that the mods have IP'ed him and banned his a** if he was Dutchy/Imperial. Remember, he wasn't on here that long ago, so I doubt that the coast is clear. This also isn't a board where he can just come back and not be noticed since it doesn't have the activity to drown him out.

What was it you said about small sample sizes and fools?

Says the person who just changed their user pic from Javier Vazquez to Robinson Cano ;)

If he's not Dutchy/Imerial, that's immaterial. He's still blatantly baiting and trying to start a shitstorm.

Haha, I still support Javy, but it's hard to leave him up there when he truly represents the weakest spot on the 25 man roster.

He's a 23 year old who leads the majors in AVG and is playing spectacular defense. If I didn't bring it up, someone else would soon.

Would I be allowed to mention it if he played for the Royals?

I understand, I'm just giving you a hard time. I don't see too many Red Sox fans with Scott Schoeneweis pictures.

Yeah I know lol. Anyway, Jackson is certainly off to a great start, and so far (even before he went on the DL) Granderson hasn't played well outside of the first week. No way to know if it'll keep up, but Austin Jackson is definitely one of the players around the league that I will be paying close attention to as this season unfolds (and in future seasons).

Maybe Yankee fans should start threads about Hanley Ramirez. Like I said, your motives are transparent.

If the Red Sox traded a top young prospect in the offseason for a player that's underperformed and recently went on the DL for a month and the young player went on to lead the majors in AVG and play spectacularly, I'm sure plenty of Red Sox fans would have mentioned it by now. I doubt a Yankees fan would have to be the one to bring it up.

Austin Jackson's not keeping up this level of production with his inflated BABIP and massive strikeout rate.

Yep. He's going to hit the ground sooner or later. Especially once pitchers find his weaknesses and attack it consistently.

IPs don't have to match for it to be the same guy.

It depends, obviously someone can access the same account from multiple computers, but if it were the same person, it'd be only a matter of time before the streams cross and they login with the wrong screen name on the wrong computer. It'd be a matter of time before posting tendencies are tracked and patterns are developed, and while I would not be surprised if Dutchy did come back in some form, I don't think that this is the newest spawn of that account. Either that, or he's really learned to accept Jacko for who he is.

His BABIP is near .600

And leads the Majors in Strikeouts. I think the BABIP declines but the K rate improves, and he settles somewhere in the middle.

I said when we had him that he was a future .300 double digit homerun guy who plays good D and will steal you 20+ bases. I just didnt know if he was that guy this yr, which is why the Yanks pulled the trigger on Granderson

He does strike out a heck of a lot but his BABIP isn't that inflated considering he has a line drive rate over 40%.

EDIT: His actual BABIP is .532 and his expected BABIP is .406. So he has gotten somewhat lucky but most of his BABIP isn't just luck, but a product of him hitting so many line drives and so few fly balls.

But an LD% of over 40 is unsustainable as well, so the point is moot.

Yeah, his BABIP and LD% will definitely go down. But he hasn't been as lucky as his .520 BABIP suggest he may have been.

He said he is currently favorite to win rookie of year, then you name other players who have lesser numbers then Jackson, what are you trying to say here? He never said Jackson would win rookie of the year, he said he is current favorite, which is hard to argue.

I highly doubt he'll be in AAA, but feel free to hope for him to fail.

And I mentioned three prospects who are better than him, with better grade and more potential.

Wait, I'll help. ROY means Rookie of the Year, and it's April. Need a graph?
