They have a sleu of young pitching (ie Bergesen, Hernandez, Berken, Tillman, Arrieta, Matusz) who are all pretty young, and in my opinion, everyone except for Berken has a lot of potential. If they have reasonable drafts and have some consistency in offense, then they can be a very good team. If only they didn't have to play the Red Sox, Yankees, and Rays 18 times a piece.

They dont have a choice. They tried to spur themselves into the playoff race by signing Hernandez and Tejada 5 yrs ago, but the team wasnt ready. They have to do it the right way to win in the AL East. You establish a strong foundation, then fill in your spots with FA acquisitions

The real gravy of the draft is the fact that Belichick manage to completely steal draft picks. We managed to trade 8 picks with an average draft slot of 84.7 to accumulate 10 picks with an average draft slot of 70.3, including the Panthers second rounder next year. That insane. Add in the fact that we STILL have 2 first rounders next year (with 1 likely being a top 10) and 2 second rounders in a capped draft. Yeah, Belichick is a genius.
