You shouldn't worry about weather a player has losses or not they don't tell you very much. I'm fairly confident that if not overused Bard will be a shut down guy in the 8th inning.

Embree's has an option to go somewhere else if he's not called up by Friday so either hor Schowenweis is going to have to be gone. I'd give Embree a chance and hope that Schowenweiss clears waivers.

The point about Cruz is that you can't stuff him in AAA as he'll want and receive a major league deal if no one works out a trade for him. You'd have to cut Ramon Ramirez if you wanted Cruz and as you mention he doesn't help you that much.

Im not basing Bard of amount on losses, Im basing it on what I've seen, in one game he received the loss, however i didn't see that game so I cant really judge him. Then, vs the Twins he allowed a homer to Cuddyer and nearly blew game, if Hermida didn't hit that 3 run double, Sox would of lost because Bard and against the Orioles on Friday, he gave up a 2 run homer to Jones to put the O's right back in the game.

I don't see why Schoeneweis or Embree should stop us from getting Cruz. There is no point of having a second lefty in the pen if they cant even get out lefties. Id take Cruz over Schoeneweis or Embree. I doubt after seeing Schoeneweis pitch with the Red Sox so far that anyone would want him. What I'm saying is that we should keep Ramon Ramirez, activate Dice-k, sign Cruz, then get rid of Embree/Atchison/Schoeneweis.

Late edit: Bard has looked outstanding his past two games, I'm not worried about him at all and should of clarified that, I was just pointing out that he hasn't even looked amazing so far. However, this may be a sign that Bard has figured it out.

Daniel Bard is the LEAST of my worries.. My only worries with him would be sh!tting his pants in the post-season vs. Yankees or Rays...if we even catch either of them.. without another slugger we won't..mark my words..remember I said this.. WE WILL MISS PLAYOFFS UNLESS WE GET A MAJOR BAT VIA TRADE.

We won't make the playoffs unless Josh Beckett, John Lackey and Jon Lester pitch to standard levels and until J.D. Drew, Adrian Beltre and David Ortiz start hitting.

That's how we'll make the playoffs.

I agree, but Beltre is doing just fine so far.

.309/.342/.368 for Beltre isn't exactly fine so far.
The guys power outage may not have been a product of SafeCo, but rather due to the lack of Roids.

could be ' date=' it did for Ortiz[/quote']Ortiz stopped taking the PED's after after 2007? I guess he must have gone back to them in June last season because he was one of the top power hitters for the second half of 2009.

LOLOL

no he was not , his OPS was 860 in the second half

I'm pretty sure thats not at the top the list for power hitters in the second half of last season , not even close to the top

a700 was generalizing' date=' if you add Ortiz's 1062 OPS in June to the" second half of the year" his numbers are far more impressive.[/quote']

yes but my point was that Roids has affected Ortiz's numbers as well

the whole season counts , you cant exclude april and may .

Every one would be an excellent ball player if you excluded their bad stretch

What does that have to do with him being good for the second half of the season?

eventough we was good ,not great , his numbers werent 2003-2007 or close to it

witch mean due to age and roids his performance was affected

so let me ask you .....

would you be fine if he did the exact same thing this year ? suck for 2 months and do ok for the remainder?

30+ 2B, 25+ HR's three years in a row before busting a nut last year. There was no "power outage".

Large power hitters like Ortiz normally experience decreased production in their 30's. That's natural-- not a symptom of Roid use. What is not natural is increased power production in a player's 30's.

I'll stand by my usual mantra. Couple days 'till it's over.
