What happened?

 

Sadly I'm getting a AAAA game on FOX and can't watch the Rays and Yankees.

 

Nobody out, A-Rod on first, 3-1 count to Cano. A-Rod runs, Cano swings and misses, and A-Rod gets thrown out. Whether it was a hit and run or A-Rod was stealing on his own, it was a terrible decision.

Cervelli has a great approach to the plate. But without Jose Molina, we're toast /sarcasm.

 

Pleased with CC looking sharp. Tex hit a ball hard into the shift, probably the best ball he's hit this yr. Maybe, just maybe, he's ready to break out.

 

Cano looks like a damn beast up there. I wonder if he started drinking ARod's Kool Aid. He never used to get around on an inside pitch like that.

 

Also, love having Gardner on this team. He just makes things so interesting

Jacko, I don't really agree about Tex. It got in on the trademark, and broke his bat.

 

Anyway, I would have liked to see Gardner try to steal before the bunt, but as I'm typing this, it doesn't end up mattering.

Right, that's true. It's just that, looking at the situation before the outcome, when you have a guy that has a really high success rate stealing bases, I'd rather not give up the out by bunting him to second.

I have no problem with that except for the fact that Cervelli was up. While I like the kid's approach, I think that was the right move.

Yeah that's a fair perspective, considering it's your nine hitter. Maybe have him steal, and then bunt him to third, but it might have been two strikes by that point.

 

Anyway, nice to see Tex having a good day. We'll see if CC can keep putting up these zeroes.

CC just needs to get his legs under him. In Boston, his stuff was mildly off, but his stamina was pathetic. Today, his stuff is lethal, we'll see if he has some stamina here

As Tim pointed out, that's a bit dirty from Bartlett right there. I'm sure you guys will remember Iwamura doing the same thing. Somehow I'm not surprised it's the Rays again.

Nice play from Shoppach, saving a run. I'm impressed by Gardner so far, and I hope Girardi is impressed enough to play him against lefties.

EDIT: Great play. Ball was hit off the end of the bat, allowing Tex enough time to get there. TB hasn't hard a particularly hard hit ball yet today.
