Amazing that anybody on that team is playing well enough to outshine Cargo (I really don't like that nickname for Carlos Gonzalez), who is hitting .460/.534/1.232 in September.

The only two guys besides Troy to hit 14 HRs in 15 games are Belle and Bonds. Looks like Tulo is the only one to do it by himself.

Me too. How could I forget about that? The umpire put it in his locker, and Jason Grimsley snuck into the lockerroom through a vent or some crap in the ceiling and replaced the corked bat with an uncorked bat.

Oswalt is throwing another gem for Philly. I honestly don't see any reason why they can't make their third straight World Series. Halladay-Oswalt-Hamels is an absolutely ridiculous top three.

i think they're the best team in baseball. they've got plenty of offense and the best 1-2-3 punch that any playoff team can boast

 

it's gonna be really boring if it's another yankees/phillies world series though. i remember one guy who wasn't a fan of baseball telling me, "why bother watching, it's just gonna be another yankees/phillies world series?" prior to the season and i'd hate for them to be right

also of note, the twins have clinched the central and announced their postseason rotation

 

1 - liriano - 3.44 era with more than a strikeout an inning

2 - pavano - 3.60 era with, 1.16 whip, 7 ip per start

3 - duensing - 2.19 era, 1.13 whip

 

i think they'll be my playoff team. i always like the underdogs

The Tampa Bay @ Minnesota ALDS should be a very good one. The Yankees should roll past the Rangers--maybe Texas takes a Cliff Lee game.

If the Rays take the next two games, I think they win the division considering their much easier schedule. If they split, I think it goes right down to the wire.

As will most people. The thing is, if there is one pitcher that has been "Dominant" in the AL this season, it's him.

Liriano's fantastic peripherals keep him in the conversation, but Felix should win unanimously. Unfortunately I doubt he wins the award at all. It probably goes to CC or Price.

I always knew Brandon Inge was a good third basemen, but good doesn't really do him justice. After seeing him in person last weekend for two games, I can't believe he's never won a Gold Glove. Crying shame.

According to MLB.com, Showalter today became the first manager since 1900 to take over a team in August or later and win more games than the team had before he got there.

 

That is unbelieveable.
