Just heard this after watching highlights on Mlb.com "Red Sox are the first team to have three starters to 8 wins." Especially surprising since the Yankees had 4 with 5 pretty much after 35 games.

Strasburg was excellent in his 3rd start, setting the MLB record for most strikeouts through the first 3 games of a career (32). He pitched 7 Innings (just 85 pitches), giving up 1 run on 4 hits, no walks, and 10 strikeouts.

Strasburg has been very impressive, but I want to see him play a good lineup, that would really prove himself

I'm not sure if there is a college baseball thread, so if there is one, this can be moved there. Anyway, is anyone watching the UCLA/Florida game? The UCLA pitcher (Trevor Bauer) is pretty good, and it seems like his pitching motion is similar to Tim Lincecum's. I just wanted to know if anyone else saw a resemblance in pitching motion's as well. It isn't identical, but it has similar torque and explosiveness.

That's an incredible story, especially for a guy who is not known to hit home runs. It must have been a very emotional moment for him when he hit it.

I have a couple of questions. First, can somebody explain to me why all 4 of Ben Sheets runs are earned? I understand why the first, third, and last runs are earned, but the 2nd run occurred when, according to Yahoo, "R Doumit safe on first baseman D Barton's fielding error, A McCutchen scored". Both yahoo and espn have all 4 of Sheet's runs as earned. Shouldn't Ben Sheets then be 6 IP 3 ER? Shouldn't it be a quality start?

My other question (as you can tell, they have fantasy implications) is in the Royals/Cardinals game. In the 9th inning, Ludwick reached on catcher's interference, and later scored. Greinke was responsible for the run, and yahoo said that he had 2 runs, 1 ER, while ESPN marked both runs as earned. Which one is correct?

Edit: For reference, mlb.com also has Greinke's run as unearned, however, it has Sheet's run as earned.

Russell Branyan being traded is the best news of the year.

Russell Branyan: .263/.328/.491

Cleveland Guardians: .248/.324/.378

Yeah, I really don't see how you have a better team without him.

Giving the specs time to play and Russell Branyan couldn't do s*** right. <_ his batting stance is the weirdest one i ever seen.>

cause weird batting stance is equal to suck. I see. I actually agree with suns that it is better for cleveland. They got something for Branyan and now have a full time spot for Laporta

LOL @ Carlos Zambrano. What an *******.

That dude is seriously off his rocker, but I think we've known that for a while now. How do you possibly get that furious at Derrek Lee? He's one of the nicest guys in baseball.

Also, Josh Hamilton now has a 22 game hit streak after that last base hit. The man is a machine.

All of his team mates said that he was just trying to pump up the team and they took it wrong.

4000!!!!!

Um, no they didn't; that's what Zambrano said. One of the worst spin jobs I've ever seen, too. It was pretty obvious that he was out of control. Be a man and own up to your insanity, Zambrano.

Looks like Carlos Marmol might've been traded to Cincy for Chris Heisey. Leave it to Jim Hendry to trade a lights out closer when there is no clearcut replacement for a rookie OF to create an even bigger logjam out there. Earning his paycheck one bad move at a time.
