What Hanley did is not a surprise at all to me. One of my best friends has a cousin on the Marlins 40 man roster' date=' and he's been telling me for a good two years now that none of the Marlins like Hanley and that he's a total douche bag. This just solidifies it.[/quote']

May be a douche bag on the baseball field, but i've met the guy personally a number of times, and he's one of the nicest, most down-to-earth baseball players i've ever met. What i heard from someone close to him (his cousin) is that he feels like a number of players envy him because of the amount of money he makes and his talent.

Ubaldo Jimenez continues his torrid stretch of pitching. Tonight's line: 7 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 4 K ( So far). He has an 0.99 ERA thus far. Let's see just how long he can keep this sort of dominance up.

An injury scare for him though.

He pitched the next inning afterwards. They basically took him out because of precautionary measures, but still, goddamn.

He did pitch the next inning, but not without another visit from the trainer following the first batter. At the very least, it's something to keep an eye on.

I'd be more worried if he hadn't come back out to pitch. But not only did he come back out, he maintained his velocity and maintained the couple breaking balls he threw low in the zone. I doubt it's anything of note, but you never know.

Never been there. It seems very wide open. There's a pretty good chance you'll see some HRs.

Didn't Jon Garland hit a homer there when he was with the White Sox?

Lincecum lasted just 5 innings giving up 5 runs against the lowly dbacks.

The D-Backs are third in the Majors in Runs Scored, third in homers, and fifth in OPS. That team can rake.

Brad Penny helped out his own cause with a Grand Slam off of Joel Piniero.

.....who i sat in the TalkSox fantasy league, as well as Westbrook in the other one and they both got hammered.

That sounds kinda douchey to me.

It does, but then again, it came from an outside source, so who knows what he actually thinks? If that's the way he thinks, then situations like this will keep popping up.

Dunno where to put this, but that Phillies/Jays series that was moved from Toronto to Philly will actually be using the DH in a national league park. Interesting.

yep and Toronto will be batting at the bottom of the 9th. So there could potentially be a walkoff for the Blue Jays in Philly:blink:

Buerhle has had the same pickoff move more than ten years, and now it's a f***ing balk?

That is absolute horseshit.

If it happens to your team: Man, he's been doing that for _____ years!!

If it happens to another team: That was the right call.

Also, you have to keep your emotions in check.

Trevor Crowe doesn't bunt. He's a great hitter for a young player.

As someone who probably would throw their glove down when pissed, I don't think that it should be an ejectable offense. Then again I think everything but physical contact with the umpire should be allowed and not ejectable. West is lucky that punching an empire would probably be a career ending offense.
