Cameron's horrible. Please start Hermida and give him the benefit of the doubt. Or start Hermida over JD Drew. At least one of those guys, because neither will help this team offensively. I bet Hermida could do better. Heck, I bet Reddick could. An outfield of Reddick, Hermida and Ellsbury sounds good to me (as long as Reddick is major league ready which right now he isn't).

I'm waiting for the LOLs, but I know that JD Drew and Cameron will fail, so we won't be laughing when they start and we miss the postseason because of their poor play.

So how do you know they will fail? How do you know he will succeed? Past performance says different.

Like the Sox have missed the postseason during JD Drew's tenure (2007-2009)

The JD Drew hate is hilarious. So Drew will "fail", although he was one of most productive players in the whole league last year. But a guy whose best year doesn't even touch Drew's career averages is better? Hilarious. Nothing at all suggests that Drew will start declining and that Hermida will improve over a terrible year last year offensively and defensively.

The Cameron hate is new, but not really surprising. Im not even going to bother explaining why Cameron should start over Hermida.

I'll take my chances with Ellsbury/Cameron/Drew, thanks.

You're forgetting to count that JD Drew only gets hits when we are 10 runs up winning, or losing by 10 runs. That's the only time he is successful. Mike Cameron has never really been that great on offense.

Personally, I'd like Matt Holliday, but Theo has failed us again.

This is quite literally the dumbest thing i have ever read.

JD Drew "Clutch" stats:

Late and close: .809 OPS.

Within 1 run of the opposing team: .863 OPS.

Within 2 runs of the opposing team: .926 OPS

Witihin 3 runs of the opposing team: .918 OPS

2 outs, RISP: 1.138 OPS

So I guess I'm off the hook. :D

By a f***ing mile.

With this guy as backup, everyone can just let loose and say whatever the f*** they want, with this thread as a "But PWNdroia said we should start Hermida over Drew" defense.

Don't encourage Jacko. He was too much when he didn't know that there was someone dumber than he is.

Half the forum is on fire today hahahaha.

I am a bit nervous about Cameron. We're rather dependent on a strong year from a 37 year old center fielder, which is a definite gamble. Even with that conceded, though, Hermida is clearly not the answer.

I wouldn't be too shocked if we wound up needing to pay a prospect or two and bring in some supplemental outfield talent. I don't know if I'd expect us to land a superstar, but someone like David Dejesus or Kosuke Fukudome who could play center and flash some OBP might be on our radar if we aren't strong out the gate.

You know what's funny? The ast baseball forum I was at, the people got so mad at my negativity and stupidness and started swearing at me. I spammed them all and got banned five times.

And I don't care what stats are thrown at me; JD Drew has harmed this team since day 1. He is horrible. Hermida is still young, I bet he can still get better as a player.

Also why he literally carried the Red Sox through the summer of 2008 and was one of the most productive OF in baseball in 2009. Production is obviously harmful to baseball teams.

The manager, who knows more about his players than any of us and who is paid to win games, batted Drew in the 8-hole last year. Isn't it time to stop talking about him as if he were a legit middle of the order run producer?

He started 9 games and had a grand total of 30 ABs in the 8-hole last year. In the majority of his games, he batted 5th or 6th.

Tito is also someone who doesnt like to pinch hit for players late in the game. Even last year, it took an act of congress to pinch hit for Tek... even during September when they had more than 2 catchers

No, I don't know that.

If he sucked, Theo wouldn't have him as his manager.
