2. CoachC is a fan of Syracuse and Florida.

Now it makes complete sense:

Syracuse-Kentucky beat them in the national championship game before.

Florida-In the same conference-everyone hates kentucky in the SEC

It has nothing to do with that. We've won a National Championship since - more recently that Kentucky. They lost to Indiana - I like Indiana. UK has been caught cheating just about more than anyone, then you add Cal, one of the big cheats ever as coach and what do you get? I've never liked Calipari - think he's a scum bag, and its only UK fans who doesn't think he is committing some recruiting violations, they have the most arrogant fans, and their team this year is more hatable than in recent years.

Love the UK fans defending Cal from day 1 when they know he is the type they would rip on at any other school.

As for Florida, yes, everyone in the conference hates UK. But, we'll always own you in football, so it's all good.

Some people I know are saying the foul that Prince committed with 1.8 seconds left wasn't a foul.

I thought it was. Probably just bitter because of a foul deciding a game. Izzo is an incredible coach - he gets his share of talent, no question about it, but not many coaches would have his resume with his teams. The guy is incredible. He ALWAYS find a way in March. 6 final fours, absurd. Very underrated in my opinion, when people start mentioning top college coaches.

I do think Baylor is more athletic and quicker than Duke but I don't know about Baylor's 2-3 zone vs. Duke. They can't enforce their athletic edge in a passive defense and they don't seem to trap as much as the Syracuse zone.

As the announcers mentioned at the time, the foul could have been called on Prince or Williams. Either way, Raymar Morgan should have been shooting free throws.

Plus two of the main ways to beat the zone are to shoot 3's and have a dominant big man. Duke can obviously shoot the 3, and now Zoubkek is deciding to have a good year for once, so matchup wise it may favour Duke.

He just came back with 8:45 left.

Not sure if you're talking about Zoubek, but he came back with about 11 minutes left. You just saw why how ineffective Zoubek is at this point on the Lomers layup. He was right there and he didn't even contest it, because he was afraid to pick up his fifth.

Baylor should really look to play in the paint for the rest of the game, or until Zoubek fouls out.

EDIT: Oh, now I see you were talking about Lomers.

Yup.

I f***ed up.

I haven't been watching closely and certainly don't know the teams well at all.

I was referring to the big white kid from Texas.

It's going to be very interesting to see how often Dunn is willing to give the ball up the rest of the way, and how Coach K will counter.

Got to admit, I absolutely love Jon Scheyer.

EDIT: What guts from Zoubek!

That was your Duke game-changing 6th man in stripes call. A 50-50 call goes against Acy. Then again, there is no such thing as a 50-50 call when Duke is involved.

I'm surprised you're making a big deal about a call that you admit is a toss up. Duke dominated down the stretch, in what amounts to a road game, where their big man was playing with four fouls against a much more athletic team.

Assuming they close this out, they deserve every bit of this Final Four berth. It doesn't need to be diminished by one toss up call that went Duke's way.

The charge on Acy really changed the entire game situation. No 5th on Zoubek, no BU basket, & then Nolan Smith bangs a three. Could/Should have been Baylor by 4, but Duke went up 1

Why all the hate for Duke?

Call it on Acy and nothing on Scheyer who looks so happy to be getting away with one. Scheyer can swing his elbows - no problem. Acy gets the T for bumping Smith or Scheyer. This is why America hates Duke.

But you admitted that it was a toss up. What has happened with Duke in the past is completely irrelevant. What matters is this game, and by your logic, Duke would have had a right be upset if it was called a block.

Sure, it was a key moment, but Duke dominated down the stretch, fair and square. This is indisputable, even if it was a bad call, which you even admit yourself that it wasn't.

I think it's just because they win. Same reason people hate UNC basketball, Florida football, the Lakers, the Cowboys, etc.

Everyone will throw around their other, often anecdotal, reasons, but there is one thing in common with all the teams that the masses hate - they win.

Regardless, when you're talking about someone hating a team (or hating anything for that matter), it becomes a discussion clouded by emotion, which is a discussion that isn't worth having.

And I think the Refs made the right call on the time-out too.

Agreed. The charge was 50-50. Scheyer only swung his elbows after he got hacked in the back, which was after he called the timeout.

Duke's perimeter shooting and second chance points put them over the top. Not the most talented Duke team ever, but Coach K knows how to bring out the best in his players.

They did execute better than Baylor down the stretch, but with that being said there were some bad calls that I saw in the last five minutes of this game when it was still close and who knows what would have happened if they went the other way. (i.e. thomas dunk should have been offensive interference). Always easy to second guess the refs, but just what I saw.

Another thing in common is that they have often have bad/obnoxious fan bases. Especially with the Lakers and Cowboys.
