If the Yankees lose to this bunch of jokers' date=' they will be a laughing stock. There would be no excuses short of the team chartered plane crashing with no survivors. Even then the Yankees would probably be prohibitive favorites.[/quote']

This post shocks me not one bit  ...keep it up 700, I really enjoy the amusement you provide me with.

I'm confident about our chances in the series but part of me is still very reluctant to to flat out say we're gonna beat the Twins. It would be devastating if we didn't, but we've felt that devastation several times in recent years. So although we swept the season series and dominated them in all 7 games we played versus them this season, and the fact that they've got no rest after playing must win baseball all weekend and of course the 12 inning classic they played tonight, in addition to their late arrival in New York later all indications to point to these being advantages for us, but the one thing the Twins do have is serious momentum behind them. I'm hoping for the best and I'm very confident that we can get the job done, but we still have to play the games and this series is going to be a challenge with the way the Twins are going. Hopefully we can take their glass slippers and send them home. Postseason baseball is the only thing I love about October :D

Devstating. That's the word I was looking for.

Is what he said not true though?

The Yankees are a much better team than the Twins. However, a best of five series is a crap shoot, in my opinion. I would be extraordinarily disappointing, but I would not be shocked.

A true Red Sox fan would want to face the Yankees in the ALCS.

Yankees in three.

The Yankees will be in the ALCS. The Twins have zero pitching and no Justin Morneau. The series will be an utter bore, except to the Yankee fans who will be orgasmic about beating this team of chumps with their stupid chimp manager who will make sure to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every single time. The one bright spot is that if the Sox advance to the ALCS, the Yankees will have to step up their game after playing these patsies. They may be complacent after walking over the Twins.

I know the playoffs are unpredictable, but still, I would be shocked. I'm not trying to play the reverse jinx card either. New York is just better than Minnesota, and it's not even close.

I am going to lay the odds and make the easy money on this.

I understand that point of view. However, inferior competition winning in a short series is not uncommon.

People said the exact same thing about the 2006 Cardinals.

Jason Kubel against lefties this year:

.245/.301/.347

From a Yankees perspective, that is very encouraging. If he hits behind Mauer when they're facing Sabathia and Pettitte, there will be even less of a reason to pitch to Mauer.

Every rule has its exception.

The 2006 Cards are the exception to that rule.

Scott Spiezio, Jeff Weaver and Ronnie Belliard playing key roles in a WS team?

Really?

They were weak, but they did have Pujols, Rolen, Edmunds and some decent pitching. They got a lot of help too. The Mets gave away game 2 of the NLCS and the Tigers gift-wrapped the WS.

I will lmao if Pavano wins a game against the Yankees.

That's your definition. I ALWAYS want the NYY to lose, no matter what.:harhar:

Edmonds' numbers were in freefall and the Mets did s*** the bed throughout that series.

^ Funny.

I think you think anything is funny when it is bashing on someone.. I can take it. I was laughing when I saw how stupid it was.

He wasn't bashing on you, he simply made a joke.

It wasn't meant to be insulting or anything. So don't get your panties in a bunch.

Oh I know.. I am just messing around with you. Trust me, when I do something stupid like that, I will be the first person to make fun of myself.

How did they give away Game 2? Mota and Wagner both pitched poorly. Give Speizio and Taguchi credit.

Duensing has been solid this year in nine starts, but it's worth noting that his last two have not been good. I watched bits and pieces of his games this year, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference in terms of his stuff and location. He also does not get a lot of swings and misses, so I'm hoping his recent struggles are due to some luck catching up to him.

Jeter SS

Damon LF

Teixeira 1B

Rodriguez 3B

Matsui DH

Posada C

Cano 2B

Swisher RF

Cabrera CF

Span CF

Cabrera SS

Mauer C

Cuddyer 1B

Kubel RF

Young LF

Tolbert 3B

Harris DH

Punto 2B

I figured they would swap Cuddyer and Kubel because the Yanks have a lefty on the mound. I also would not be surprised if Swisher, Damon, and Kubel had a lot of problems tonight on defense.

There were a number of tactical missteps by Randolph. I don't remember the particulars, but they clearly made several attempts to give away game 2, and ultimately they were successful.

None that I remember, with the exception of his trust in Mota. It probably should have been Heilman in that spot. Besides that, I don't think you can blame him for anything else.
