NESN is saying Lucic is alright.

Does Thomas have a broken hand, thats what I heard, which would make sense for him not playing at all lately. TUUKKA! It should be his job, he is our future, not Timmy. Thomas had a great run, but its Tuukka's time to shine. In all seriousness you need to have Thomas playing up to his top level come playoff time, b/c I don't think Rask will be quite ready this year to handle the playoff pressure. We shall see tho.

That's awesome. As soon as I saw it on the replay, I thought torn ACL done for the year. Wouldn't be surprised if they sit him during the back to back this weekends and play Sobotka to be cautious.

Tuukka Rask gives the Bruins the best chance to win on a game to game basis.

His numbers across the board are better than Thomas'.

Makes that 5 year contract look even worse.

That's a wonderful deal for you guys. Yea, he'll be 38 when the deal is up but it's a small price to pay for such a reasonable cap hit and considering his greatest asset is his passing which won't really deteriorate with age.

This is old news, but I just found out the Bruins traded Kris Versteeg for Brandon Bochenski? What an awful trade.

Tim Thomas understood the “Bronx Cheer” that rained down on him Saturday night.

The boos came falling down upon him from the TD Garden faithful when he made his first save against the Senators. Unfortunately, he had already allowed a goal on the first shot he faced following a six-game absence from the Bruins lineup.

He was able to grasp the criticism he received after allowing what he referred to as a “blatant” bad goal to Milan Michalek with 19 seconds left to send the game into overtime and eventually a shootout.

But that doesn’t mean he was happy about it.

“Yeah, I understand it, but I’m not happy,” Thomas said. “Of course it’s tough when you hear boos like that and get it from your home crowd. It was a hard night. Thankfully I was able to recover and help the team win in the shootout, but like I said after the game that night, they bailed me out on what was probably my worst experience here.”

Has there ever been a mentally weaker hockey player? I also love how that was his worst experience ever, not Game 7 the past two seasons.

Well you're taking the quote out of context. He's saying that's his worst experience with the fans here. Game 7 against Montreal was in Montreal and the fans weren't hard on him after game 7 last year... Meanwhile no mention from you as Thomas puts together a solid performance tonight.

are you kidding me about that? how is that the worst experience he has had with the fans here? are there no depths thomas supporters will go to try to defend this guy? and yes, he had a very strong effort yesterday, but there was no mention from you when he let in that terrible goal against ottawa

Tim Thomas is pathetic... he has let in 5 goals to an inferior Canadien team in 2 periods, has looked just terrible in net, and made some terrible decisions tonight. This is what exactly I was afraid of, except sped up. Thomas is declining to the point that Rask needs to be in there. That contract extension was one of the worst moves of the Charelli era. It constricts the cap, but also we can't get rid of the guy. Who is going to want a backup goalie at that price in a couple years?

Are you even watching the game?

Can't fault Thomas for all of these goals. Multiple sloppy passes by Hunwick and Morris have led to goals. I guess you can say Thomas should have covered that s*** clear by Hunwick but it doesn't matter. They are playing like dog s***.

Pathetic 2 man adv by Boston in the 2nd. All they did was take shots from the blueline.

Only one Thomas can be blamed for was the one he didn't cover with his glove. Not his fault the D was uncharacteristically stumbling over themselves last night.

By this time last night Tim had let in 5 goals.

So I assume you aren't advocating Tim Thomas to be the starting US goalie in the Olympics?

Barring a complete collapse, it will be Ryan Miller.
