Starting it now cause I wanna get that bad taste out of my mouth.

Hopefully we make Greinke look lost on the mound and Byrd can be amazing.

Lets just hope that our bats can work and the bullpen can actually hold a lead tonight.

I think that race is pretty much over after this meltdown tonight.

we can still get it as low as 2.5 still if we win the next three and the yankees lose the next two.

Well yeah, but I wouldn't count on that given that we've got the Byrd/Greinke matchup tomorrow.

No matter how you slice it, if the Yankees were to lose the Division after leading by 8 games in September, it would take a monumental collapse. It would be very interesting if the Yanks blew the division. I believe that they have already clinched a playoff spot, but they have not had a celebration. I guess they are waiting to clinch the Division. If they blow that, they will go to the playoffs without having celebrated anything. That would be very strange.

lol, with that evidence how can anyone deny us the division.

I don't think that Journey is sufficient enough evidence to change our minds.

journey may not but the song maybe to get us to say we have a chance. we are a gonna be in the playoffs so lets just beat the piss outta the Angels then the Yankees and sweep the WS cause that how we do it.

Varitek is in tonight's lineup. No Lowell. How foolish will Greinke make varitek look?

Alex Gonzalez will hit a go ahead HR and then spit on Tek for giving up the lead in the 9th with 3 passed balls.

People are still hoping to win the division?

If the Sox only win 2 of 4 in KC and the Yankees lose 2 of 3 to the Angels, the division lead is only 4.5. If the sox win 2 and the Yankees get swept, it's 3.5.

Basically, let's just assume the Sox lose tonight to a very good pitcher. As long as they win the last two, it's either 3 or 4 and a half games no matter what happens with the other two Yankees games in LA. If the Sox pull out a win tonight, too, it'll be even less.

It's not a sure thing yet, but the race isn't completely over. Now stop being a negative Nancy.

They're not going to celebrate after they clinch a playoff berth. Maybe, instead of the traditional high five line after the game, they'll be a little bit more festive. However, there is no way they'll pop champagne after the game, or do any kind of real celebration in the clubhouse. I guarantee that.

Just curious.

Because I am Joe Girardi. You've never seen him in the dugout with his blackberry out?

Anyway, they never have in the past. Every single time they've been in this position, they've done exactly what I just said. Granted, Girardi wasn't the manager, but he's been part of this team in the past. I see no reason why things would change.

Also, I believe it's common, at least with teams that have high expectations, not to celebrate in that scenario. When the Mets clinched the wild card in 2000, they didn't celebrate because they were still contending for the division. Once Atlanta clinched, they celebrated their successes.

What'd the Red Sox do in 2007?

The NYY have to go .500 and the Sox need to go 12-1 just to force a tie. How am I being negative?
