There is a report on MLB.com that Alex Rios has been claimed off waivers by an undisclosed team. Toronto is considering what action to take.

Ricciardi won't comment on Rios report

The White Sox had priority over the Red Sox in the claim.
If he is available now on waivers just as a salary dump, I would venture to guess that he would have been available prior to the deadline. Maybe if the Sox ageed to take Rios, Ricciardi might have lowered the price for Halladay.

Where would Rios play?

Your post is baseless conjecture.

Yeah, I guess if I had Reddick and Rios available, I'd go with Reddick

Don't bust my chops with the conjecture ********. I'm in no mood for you to get cute using my lines. ;)

Rios is way too pricey over too long a period of time' date=' especially since he'd be acquired as a stopgap, essentially. If he was coming with Halladay, I would've taken him. Alone, no way.[/quote']I don't disagree. Toronto would have had to agree to eat some of his contract if they wanted a prospect in return.

Rios sucks, and hes an classless *******.

After a game like that, probably not the best idea in the world to ask for his John Hancock. I don't blame him for not signing their autographs. Look how they reacted. If you ask me, they were the douchebags.

He's a classless ******* because he had a s***** game, didn't want to sign autographs and told a guy to go f*** himself when he got harrased and called a bum? Come on dude

Poor baby, maybe he should retire and give back all the money then. Welcome to professional sports Alex, deal with it.

And kicking the fans ass in front of kids, yeah...that would have showed them to call him out after a poor game. I am sure no fan has ever called him out before or boo'ed him, especially considering the money he makes.

Just because he makes gobs of money doesn't mean he should gladly take s*** from *******s like that fan. Rich, poor, it doesn't matter. People still have pride. If Rios had kicked that guy's ass in front of his kids, who gives a f***? The guy had it coming.

I love how making a lot of money somehow eliminates your need for privacy and obligates you to cater to people chasing you down on the street.

You give up that right when you become a celebrity/sports star. If you dont like it, well then....do what Mark McGwire did and hide.

Looks like the White Sox get him in a salary dump.

It is confirmed.

This is very high risk/high reward.

But he might pick up his power numbers in that shoebox.

The f*** kind of logic is this? You forfeit the right to f***ing privacy because you signed a f***ing contract to play baseball? Baseball is work to these players. It's less soul-crushing than your typical office/construction/whatever job, but it is a mere job. You don't go up to lawyers and scream their name and ask them to sign pieces of paper, because that is viewed by most people as wrong, am I right? So why the hell is this any different? f***ing players don't owe the fans anything. I can't wait for the day where some of-age fan endlessly harrasses some random player for his autograph, the player f***ing whacks him, and then every idiot fanboy and every retarded media outlet across the country will f***ing cry about how much of a short-fused douchebag the player is because he got ruthlessly badgered by some f***ing ********** to sign a piece of paper for him. That will be prime entertainment.

This s*** is truly out of control.

Rant over.
