I'd send him out for the 5th so he could leave on a positive note. I made a mistake in my prior email' date=' because I lost track of the innings due to the snail's pace of this game. I wouldn't send him out beyond that, because I don't think he has it today and you'd just be inviting trouble.[/quote']

Kind of wishing we traded him now. Confidence is going doooooooooown the drain.
Between his sucking and Smoltz, we need Beckett and Lester to win every time they pitch.

Definitely. You would think that his confidence would be at an all-time high with the team not trading him and handing him the reigns. Instead, he turns out his worst performance of the year. If we weren't up 14-7 the whole fanbase would be calling for his head.

At least Clay gets to go home and weep on the shoulder of a hot gf. At the moment, he doesn't have much else to be happy about.

He was sooo bad last season that he needed to make enormous adjustments to turn around that type of performance. I was hoping that he did, but I was not enthusiastic about him taking a rotation spot down the stretch. He has given us no reason for optimism since he has been called up.

We need Dice-K back. He only goes 5 1/3 but he doesn't give up runs at least.

heh...

And would you look at Ellsy- doing what the leadoff man is payed to do: get on base. :)

That's the real reason why the offense is cooking right now. It's not so much the VMart thing. If Ellsbury had been doing this all year, there would have been no offensive slump.

Another bubble on the hat gag. ROFL I just love that.

What have we learned today?

Smoltz is a better comedian than a pitcher.

Is that Kottaras with the bubble on his hat? Poor bastard. Like it's not bad enough that he is staring at a DFA.

O'Brien thinks it's Kotchman.

Sacks juiced for Youks, no one out. Schweet.

He's in "The Zone".

When hot, Ellsbury is a force.

When he is hot at the same time as Pedroia, games like today's will not be uncommon for this team.

Unfortunately, with our pitching s***ing the bed today, this win is by no means a foregone conclusion.

He's got mad "sneak gum placement attack" skillz. ;)
