Yeah I hear all of yeah. I just thought they all should have played a little more. Oh well' date=' let's get a championship now. I think it's going to be a really good second half.[/quote']

For what? To see that Josh Beckett got one of those nasty blisters he gets every year during an all-star game? No thanks. I'll take all the recognition for these guys as the best in the game and I'll take the extra days of the rest. Plus, it should be even sweeter with Clay pitching Friday. The staff is going to be absolutely ready to go down the stretch.

Also, while the idea of Wakefield in the all-star game sounds fun and while all the catchers think they'll be able to catch his knuckleball..it could have been an absolute disaster and an embarrassment for Wake with balls going back to the backstop. My favorite moment of the night was seeing Wake kicking up his feet in the bullpen with Rivera.

From November 2005

In the past four seasons, Beckett has been on the disabled list an astounding nine times, and even more astonishing, six of those trips were 15-day stints that were a direct result of blisters on his right middle finger.

He had the same problem even in 2007, which is what prevented him from getting to 22 wins rather than the 20 he got. And then again in 2008 I believe. Not sure about last year but I'm 100% positive about 2007.

I know it's a small chance it would happen but if he's been on the DL for blisters 7 or 8 times..you just never know.

yea I remember 2007, he left in the Mother's Day Miracle game with a finger injury but it wasn't described as a blister and in 2008, none of his injuries were blister-related. As far as I'm concerned, the Sox training staff solved the blister problem long ago

I'm not saying I wanted to see Beckett pitch but I don't think there's any cause for fear of blisters anymore

A long history of blister trouble (as recent as 07) isn't cause enough?
