yea' date=' it sucks. no denying that but its hard to get all doomsday about being tied atop the division in early July[/quote']

When you had a 5 game lead two weeks ago it's pretty easy.

Split at best, Yankees will take 2/3 from the Angels at least.

I'd actually put money that the Yankees are in first come Sunday night.

Let's not panic.

Lowell and Lowrie just around the corner.

Let's kick the Royal's ass for the rest of the series and watch our SUCK factor plummet as the walking wounded return.

It's fustrating. But this is Theo Epstein. Remember the 2006 fiasco? 2007 he started the depth obsession. Don't think he doesn't remember 2008 he's going to get a re-inforcemet for Lowel not named Kotsay.

I mean' date=' I challenge any of you guys to find a better corner infielder with as much positive clubhouse influence with an awesome goatee not playing the game today.[/quote']

OK, now you've gone from being slightly overreacting to being completely ridiculous. The Yankees get their kryptonite the Angels and we get the Royals without Greinke and you put your money on the Yankees. How dramatic

You do realize, the Yankees had to play their best baseball of the season and we had to play our worst in order for them to even tie us, right?

No really.

We desperately need Lowell and Lowrie to return.

Specially Lowell over Kotsay is an enormous upgrade, and it immediately takes Ellsbury out of the 6 spot.

"Their kryptonite" doesn't have the starting staff they went into the season expecting sir.

Past performance does not bring about future results.

Yanks take 2/3, Sox will be lucky to take 2 of the next 3 (Meche/Smoltz on Sat is a bad matchup).

Good teams don't lose 3/7 to the Mariners, A's, and Royals.

Slumps.

They happen to good teams as well.

Slumping teams do. Shake it off we will be fine.

You're right, the Yankees are TOTALLY a lock going off to the west coast to play the team that's played them better than any other team the last decade. And we're TOTALY sunk playing one of the worst teams in our league because Meche is pitching one of the games.

Do you have any idea what our teams numbers look like against Bannister?

DRAMA LLAMA!

I agree. I think they should be looking to upgrade over Kotsay with someone like LaRoche just in case Lowell is still nagged by injury or breaks down.

Except when the Yankees have them, right? Then it's an indication of actual performance?

I didn't like the LaRoche idea at first, but Kotsay must not start one more game for this team at first.

You're right, I'm sure the Yankees will continue to go 13 of 15 all year from on out. Sometimes people act like we never won in 2004.

Sir.

The Red Sox trotted out Mark Kotsay at 1B today.

I didn't say the Sox were going to lose 2 of the next three, I said they'd be lucky to come out of it with a split.

I would say Meche shuts this lineup down on Saturday.

The Angels of this season are not as good as prior teams, and like I said past performance does not bring about future results.
