Nice bounce back from yesterday. Lots of late inning drama today.

Bay hitting at .262 needs to be dropped from the 4th slot.

3. Ortiz

4. Youkilis

5. Bay

FUKIN AY MAN.....wrote this off already, it wouldve been misery losing this game after last nights effort, especially after I backed up the truck on the sox today.

Good for the bullpen to rescue Becks and lots of heart and courage was shown in this affair.

Allefukinlujah Sean Patrick.

OPS is still over .900. Was he expected to produce at an Albert Pujols level for the entire season?

No' date=' but he sucked in June and has K'd in six straight ABs.[/quote']

Yeah, I'm hoping this off day will help him out.

I took a nap when I saw Beckett s***ing the bed only to wake up and be surprised he grinded out 7 innings. what's the opinion on his performance? s*** the bed or gutted one out?

Ortiz is doing well in his current spot. Bay is slumping and still has an OPS north of .900. Nothing about that screams immediate action or else. Back to Fenway we go.

You're right that immediate action isn't crucial. I would still like to keep an eye on Bay. Since 6/1: .219/.288/.381/.669.

Sucked in the first four, very good in the last three. I'd give him a 'gutted one out'

That was God making up for yesterday. In the end I guess it worked out. We should have won yesterday but we probably should have lost today. Also I was reading last year that Okajima had wicked bad numbers against the O's. I forget the exact numbers, but I remember him having near a double digit ERA against the O's and a really nice ERA against everyone else. That said, makes me wonder why he was used in the first place since he ended up with .1 innings and 4 ER. Then again most relievers didn't do well yesterday.

I keep saying these things are cyclic. Pedroia went into a slump. Youk went into a slump. Why even Drew went into a slump. They all recover.

Having said that (Christ, I sound like Jacko!), Bay has never been a high batting average hitter. .262 is about 20 points lower than we should expect. Don't panic, Tito won't. Bay will get hot.

It's ridiculous to think Bay wasn't gonna be regress at some point, it's all part of the peaks and valleys of the season

I agree with CoCo. He was off his game through four. But he shut them down after that.

Gutted it out.

This has been a very good road trip, overall. They won all the series and come home after a day off to start a long win streak. Pissah!

The O's are also a very good hitting team at home, and besides their father Jon Lester, they can hit anyone on any given day.
