Last night was disgusting. I actually listened to my girlfriend talk about her day in order to drown out the angry thoughts in my head. That was awful in so many ways. I hope a few people got kicked in the balls for that mess up. I'm avoiding the ESPN message boards today because of all the a******* that will certainly be talking s*** today. We'd better win again and fast.

June games against bottomfeeders = serious business.

besides the general disgust for that awesome display of our mighty bullpen last night was anyone else extremely unhappy with the umpiring job last night? I dont know if that Ump even had a strike zone he just guessed on both sides

Youk and Pedroia will both have XBH today.

They're too f***ing intense to put up with this ******** from the O's.

Yes, maybe 10 times i was like ummm WTF?? It went both ways though, but of course you'd like to see a halfway consistent strike zone for both teams. Maybe the umps checked out of the game early too.

i dont mind an ump with a huge strike zone as long as he is consistent, if he calls a fastball 1ft outside in the first inning he better call that same pitch a strike in the 8th inning for both teams

Say we lose the division by a game. Serious business then?

Last time that happened to us was 20 years ago!! It's at least kinda serious biz.

And if we win the division by one game we can look at the first Yankee game.

yeah its all relative if we lose by one game then this wont be the only game we look back on, believe me everyone is going to lose a game they shouldnt have

I really don't feel like the division will come down to one game between us and the Yankees. The Yankees live and die with their offense which gets hot and cold. On the other hand, we have Beckett, Lester and Smoltz starting most of our games. I bet we'll start to pull away in the second half.

I think that our schedule from now until the post season is much easier than the first part of the season so we should start to pull away before the all-star break we have a really good chance to clinch the division early

I don't know about clinching the division early, those Rays are looking really good. But I don't think it will be close with us and the Yankees.

God damnit, Lowrie's headed back to Boston to have his knee looked at. It got hit with a pitch in one of his first rehab starts and it's still swollen.

well the schedule isnt quite as easy as i thought it was when i looked at it earlier this year but i think we are looking good (not including last nights clusterf***) sorry for the doublepost

Our schedule in Aug and Sept is BRUTAL

Starting 8/4: @TB, @NYY, v.DET, @TEX, @TOR, v.NYY, v.CWS.

Fun.

Im not saying we will or wont i just think we have a decent chance

With NYY and TB, I'd put our division chances at less than 50%. A decent chance, yes.

When it comes down to it, it's about how well a team's playing at the time, not what their schedule looks like. I learned that lesson after we went on that tear against good teams last in 2004.

we also have quite a few games against middle of the road teams like CWS, Bal, and KC not to mention Oak, KC, and Seattle before the allstar break

Oh and Toronto has slowed down quite a bit
