He was awesome.

I've been mentioning Bard a lot recently. I think it was a mistake not going to him last night when the Sox were up by 9. Whatever. He came in today and did his thing. I think this kid has the makings of a premier rp in the majors. He needs work. But with experience, he'll get there.

Bard was great today, those two scoreless innings were huge, especially with most of the bullpen needing some rest after yesterdays game.

No Bedard this weekend.

Felix Hernandez, in the photo above, tips his cap to Erik Bedard upon hearing the news that he'll start next Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles and then again the following Sunday versus Texas. In reality, this makes little difference than had he started on Saturday in Boston, other than the fact he'll get to throw a simulated game this Friday in an effort to build up more arm strength.

This might be a tough series coming up. We got King Felix' date=' Bedard, and Morrow. Uh-oh.[/quote']

Morrow's an uh oh? He's 0-3 with a 5.14 ERA.

Morrow has fantastic stuff and can be very' date=' very tough.[/quote']

Considering how he's pitched, he can also be very, very rough.

I fear Felix, I still remember the no-no he took into the 8th against us in 2007 which I think was Dice-K's first Fenway start

I do too, he's a great pitcher. Has a sub 3 ERA this year.

PC pitchers own the Red Sox.

It's hard to keep up the patient approach when the guy's pounding the strike zone.

Alright, well I'm off to Boston early tomorrow morning to catch the Seattle series. Have a great weekend everyone, and enjoy the series!

Go Sox! :D

Speaking of no-no's, I remember when Morrow almost got a no-hitter against the Yankees. The guy has electric stuff, and would have better numbers if it weren't for bad roster management. Hopefully the news about not facing Bedard is true. Now if only Felix can take his game off.

Sundays supposed to be the jewel of the weekend.

This pattern of suck has been here for a month now abd its warmer on the top of MT Washington than it is at my Gloucester residence this morning.

Imagine dropping a couple of grand renting a house down the cape this week?

His stuff is incredible. If they think his arm could handle the extra strain, they should really look into stretching the guy back out.

Temp is ridiculous, can't believe I had to capitalize on the heated seats on the way to work today, July 2nd. ********. At least work got called since you could barely see through the rain.

This past week used to be my family's annual Cape week... good thing we decided to not go since the maintenance fees would be better used for other s***.

As a starter, his control and command will suffer.

He needs to be all out to maintain command of his fastball.

No Bedard on Saturday, Olson will pitch instead

Erik Bedard (shoulder) is slated to come off the disabled and start Tuesday, July 7 against the Orioles.

The M's originally had Bedard scheduled to pitch Saturday but decided to allow him to throw a simulated game Friday instead. He's expected to be on a pitch count of 75-80 for Tuesday's game. If he does well in his two starts before the All-Star break, Bedard could become a hot item on the trade market.
