Bob Costas agreed with Jacko. Still, you can undersand Jacko's frustration. 0-8 is a tough pill to swallow.

Jackson, common. You get on me for making reactionary posts about CMW (back in 2007 and this year which have turned about to be dead on by the way).

The Yankees don't trust Rivera to pitch two innings. Should they? Clearly you do, and so do I, but it's not as obvious as you're making it out to be. Now, even if you're not going to pitch him two innings, I would bring him in in the 8th with men on and the heart of the order up, even if he's not going to pitch the 9th. The 8th inning, tonight, is where the game is going to be won or lost. However, managers don't do that, so it's a moot point.

Mariano had 2 nights off. The pressure was on, the sox were charging and Girardi just gave the game away. That is the ONE thing I liked about Torre. When you needed a win, he put his best guys out there. The big thing I didnt like about Torre, was that he put his best guys out there all the damn time and never developed the other guys in the pen, which led to injuries to the setup guys and Mo. Now, Girardi just lets whomever take the high leverage innings as if anyone is qualified to pitch at all times. The fact that he had Veras up in the 9th proves that.

Maybe it's the fact that Cashman couldn't find anyone in the pen, his vaulted kiddy corp sucks.

Cashman hired Girardi? If Girardi is terrible, then who should be responsible?

I've said it for years, fire Cashman, and this team wins again. You want to go to a 39 year old pitcher to get 6 outs against one of the best hitting teams in baseball? The best you can muster is Aceves?

Fire Cashman, Yankees win.

You have no idea who is truly responsible for hiring Girardi. It's one thing to blame him for moves concerning players, but guys like the Steinbrenners, Randy Levine, and Lonn Trost could be just as responsible for choosing who manages the team.

I don't know who hired Girardi.

But if i find the person directly responsible for the best gift Red Sox Nation has ever received, i'm sending him plane tickets with a 1-week stay to the best beach resort in the Dominican.

Plus the best hookers, booze, and blow money can buy.

boy oh boy its frustrating having a god-awful bullpen eh?

Also constant failure at situational hitting.

Girardi is a terrible manager. I've been saying it from day one. His so-called success in Fla was not really a success when you start to analyze the results and when you take into account that he alienated 3/4 of that team by August. I want the Yankees to extend him for 10 years.

Girardis claim to fame is he almost had the Marlins playing 500 ball.

Immediately the yankees fire their manager who won 13-14 divisions in a row and replace him with the ass clown of the day, this being Joe Girardi...I dont think the vets like him, i dont think the kids respect him and I dont think he has confidence in being in NY long.

Girardi is an inferior manager to Francona and francona pulled a hit and run 2 nights ago with lowell running to 2nd and tek up..A worse hit and run combo has never been attempted.

The string attaching Chien-Ming Wang to the Yankees' rotation is very short and severely frayed. After watching a video of Wang's miserable outing Wednesday night against the Red Sox at Fenway Park, manager Joe Girardi opted to keep the struggling right-hander in the rotation. Girardi said Wang will start Wednesday against the putrid Nationals at Yankee Stadium.

And Girardi is sticking with Wang in the rotation after his "one pump chump" effort in his last outing LOL

I blame the GM for not having the foresight to see that this bullpen is terrible. I blame him for not making the moves that he needs to do.

I blame the GM for overvaluing his own players such as Hughes and Kennedy. Anyone can make the big splash when you have the money like Tex and CC.

It takes a quality GM to get a Smoltz and a Penny.

He sucks at player evaluation, he hired the manager [the Steinbrenners wanted Mattingly], he's to blame. I give him credit when he does something good, and I'll blame him when he sucks.

He sucks.

I blame him. I don't blame Girardi as much as I do Cashman. Veras, Edwar, Tomko, Aceves, Coke....let's not forget giving Marte a three year deal for 12 million.

Now he'll let Damon go at the end of the year...and take a chance on another young player who will suck. This team, if it EVER wins again, will win in spite of the GM.

See, Jacko loves little boys who suck, which explains his love for Brian Cashman. They're kindred spirits.

So wait......what you're implying here is that Jacko is a little boy who sucks??

Never would've figured that one out myself.

So, Girardi lets Gardner hit vs KRod with Damon on the bench. Then, he pinch hits for our second best OPS+ hitter on the team with Damon 2 batters later? What the f***? It worked out due to the drop, but that is a ridiculous decision.
