The ball was in left center and very nearly scraped the wall, but it wasn't a hit that any sane baserunner takes off on.

I was reading an article in the Courant a few weeks ago, where the writer mentioned how aside from a few scattered and almost imperceptible boos, Ortiz has been cheered regularly at Fenway.

 

I'd like to think that the unprecedented level of support for such a struggle may have something to do with the mental part of pulling out of this slump.
