The first bases loaded walk was really unfortunate, especially because it really seemed to be the early turning point.

Regardless, the Yankees played horrible, and did not deserve to win. Just like the game on friday, it's hard to win when your starter gives you absolutely nothing. However, the bullpen has become a huge concern (mainly Coke and Aceves).

I said on Thursday that the Yankees were about to go on one of their cold streaks, and it looks like that's exactly what's happening.

I am concerned about Aceves. He has been quoted as saying his shoulder is tired, and I cannot blame him since he seems to pitch every day for multiple innings. That being said, his first inning where he got out unscathed saw some of the hardest and longest hit outs I have ever seen. Then he went on to get tattooed in his second inning of work. We need to get him right, even if it means a trip to the DL or an extended rest. It is good to see Robertson in some important innings, and even though he took the loss, he looked pretty darn good. Melancon has also looked better of late. We need to find a balance with Aceves. When he feels fine, we cannot just run him out there at a ridiculous workload.

Regardless, the pen isnt my issue. You cannot expect to win when your starter gives up 5 runs over 3 innings. That needs to be rectified. If he doesnt show improvement in his next start, I'd be okay with optioning him and bringing up Igawa. Hell, at least Igawa gave a few more innings with his suck.

I've been waiting for Coke to wear down. He's got to be getting fatigued. Girardi goes to him every day.

... and he celebrated at 3B.

So what, it's a great feat good for him. Let him celebrate.

Oh no, Ponson's been designated for assignment...how soon before he's a Yankee again? :o

Wouldn't shock me lol

Pettitte was elusive tonight. Good command and kept almost everything on that outside and low corner. Hughes got into a jam that Mo further worsened with the double. Mo looked pretty pedestrian tonight.

Hughes looked pretty nasty. The YES gun had to be a few MPH slow.

Yankees got their both runs on a botched play at 1B by our old friend Millar.

Only the second one.

Mo is going through a rough patch (three straight outings) where he has not looked good at all. Hopefully this just doesn't end up costing them any games.

Sox lost ground with Lester on the hill, and when the Yankees had their 4th starter against Halladay.

If they want to make a serious push for the division, that can't happen.
