Absolutely. The only issue is that the next six games are going to be very tough. Today seemed like it was going to be very winnable.

It wasn't a good pitching match up for the Yankees. Romero (6-2, 2.80) against Pettitte (8-3, 4.25). Sometimes you run into good pitching.

Yeah, he was preeeeeeetty bad. Frasor usually pitches pretty decent though.

Pathetic. Toronto's pen is completely pathetic. Bases loaded walk to jeter to make it 7-4. They may not even hold the lead until the 9th. At least it won't be a Yankee Classic walk-off win.

So many chances. So many hard hit balls. A couple questionable calls (before you guys go nuts, I'm not whining, just stating fact). Really could have won this game.

I felt the same way against the Mariners. There was a play in the first game of the series where a Red Sox fan reached up and took a ball from Youkilis that he could have caught, and it lead to 2 runs. Then the Red Sox lost by a run in extra innings.

 

There are just some games that leave an ugly taste in your mouth.

I don't get why they continue to throw BJ Ryan out there in close games. He gave up yesterday's game to the Yankees.

I don't get why they continue to throw BJ Ryan out there in close games. He gave up yesterday's game to the Yankees. And I don't understand why League isn't their closer. He's by far the best reliever they have.

 

He's got great stuff, but League's numbers are not very good this year, while Frasor's numbers are excellent.

Yeah, I didn't realize that he imploded in June. Last time I saw him, he had a very low ERA.

Fair enough. By the way, I enjoy the conversation in this thread Dutchy, especially during the games. There usually isn't too much activity in here during the games, especially when the Yankees are doing well (understandably so).

Yeah, it's nice to have some discussion. When I'm watching a game, I'm in here commenting. I was on vacation this weekend. Even when the Yankees score, I'm the first to make a post about it. If they get a 7 run lead, I might not be around, but you know.. :harhar:
