I could only imagine the collective groan in america last night when Jon Miller announced that a 3rd member had been added to the SNB broadcast team to maybe make Joe Morgan talk less only to have the camera show its Steve Phillips

Battle of the video game stuff is about to start in Minnesota.

Felix vs. Liriano

The White Sox-Royals game was postponed until tomorrow. The outfield at the Cell was full of snow.

Riveting.

Of course Ichiro goes on the DL with a bleeding ulcer. Of course I draft him high.

I guess American food does not agree with the gastrointestinal tracts of the Japanese players. Remember last year that Kaz Matsui had anal fissures.

Liriano goes 7 and only gives up 4 hits, but all 4 come home to score (2 dingers - one of which could have been caught by Gomez). das is probably very impressed by their hit /run ratio.

Other than a Red Sox win (which obviously wasn't possible), I don't think I could've had a better Opening Day given that the Yankees got knocked around and the Cardinals blew a 2 run lead in the 9th inning to the PIRATES. So. Awesome.

As a White Sox fan, I was happy to see him come in the game. The White Sox batters have lit him up like a cross between a Christmas tree and a pinball machine ever since he was a Cub.

If the season ended today, the Pirates would be the division champs!

My dad must be thrilled...I know my grandfather would be.

And Cubs fans would be crying in their Old Styles.

Edwin Jackson pitches 7.1 strong innings and comes out of the game with a 3-1 lead. Detroit's 'pen promptly gives up 3 runs. Then, in the 9th, BJ Ryan gives up a leadoff dinger to Inge.

Reminds me of the '05 bullpen.

is anybody else digging MLB network? I think its perfect for people who don't have MLB extra innings and still want to follow the entire league. I have really enjoyed it so far this week.

ABSOLUTELY.

This channel is so epic. I watch it a ton even though I have MLB Extra Innings. It's so awesome to flip over there and hear intelligent discussions with Harold Reynolds, Magrane, Leiter, etc, rather than some of the crap ESPN analysts like Dave Winfield and Eric Young. Did anyone see Winfield the other day giving predictions? It was so, so bad.

I live in Florida and have been subjected to Joe Magrane as the 2nd guy with Dewayne Staats on Rays broadcasts for the last few years. Unless he speaking about the player perspective of a particular situation, then I'm confident there's little intelligence found in what he's saying. That said, I'll give him a second chance and tune into MLB network from time to time.

I actually like Magrane. He's been pretty good I think. All in all, MLB Network's cast of analysts trumps ESPN's, mainly because they don't have any flipping idiots like Winfield, Young, Eduardo Perez, etc. All the guys on MLB are pretty solid. I don't understand why ESPN hires some of those guys. It's always good to tune in to hear Gammons, Kurk-JIAN, Olney, Kruk, etc though, which is why I still watch Baseball Tonight.

Only have it at home. :(
