I can't see the Yankees taking the AL East with A-Rod's shattered psyche, however, i did not pick the Rays for a berth because that bullpen is still too much of a question mark.

How exactly is ARod's psyche shattered?

Oh sure. His psyche!

If someone knows how to handle pressure is A-Rod, except on October. I expect a .300/.390/.580 with 35-40 Hrs from him easily.

There's a lot of reasons why the Yanks can't take the AL East next year and none of them has to do something with 'A-Rod's psyche being shattered', jesus.

In order of record off the top of my head:

AL:

Yankees, Angels, Red Sox, White Sox

NL:

Cubs, Mets, Phillies, D-Backs

My mind may change as I think about it more...

I'll start this by saying I think both the Sox and Yanks are incomplete right now and that this strange economy will come into play with deadline moves. I think both the Sox (offense) and the Yanks (pitching) will be addressed.

In the end I think the Sox pitching will be deeper and the Sox will win the East - on paper anyway - by pitching and defense and an offense that will be helped with a mid season move.

I also think the Sox and Rays can withstand a loss to the starting rotation better than the Yanks right now. So, in that respect, I think the Rays overall staff is deeper than the Yanks one too, and I fully expect DL time out of at least 2 of their starters. (For the record, I expect the same from Sox starters, except they have like 5 guys they could start at any time and give you a quality (better than Dave Pauley) start. I also think the Rays offense has gotten a little better but it's still not perfect.

Anyway, here's my list.

A.L East- Red Sox*

A.L Central- Chicago

A.L West- Angels

Wildcard- Rays*

N.L East- Phillies

N.L Central- Cubs

N.L West- Giants* if Manny's out of the equation. But yeah, wherever he lands on the West coast.

Wildcard- Braves

*If the Yanks land Manny, everyone's f***ed.

If you're picking the Yanks to lose the division because of A-Rod losing his "psyche" you're crazy and/or ridiculously optimistic.
