So is this there way to try to offset the money they are losing by not raising ticket prices. There is no way Red Sox will go into 2009 with these as road uniforms.

The hat is permanent with alternate uniforms, if I am reading it right:

"The club will also go with the "Hanging Sox" as the new primary logo, and it will be displayed on new caps that the Red Sox will wear with their alternate jerseys at home and on the road."

 

The jerseys are permanent as well, at least 1 of them is.....of the two shown, 1 is an alternate.

Those shits are ugly. Similar to the road jerseys they used in the 70's and 80's, just with a different letter-type similar to the one currently used. But they're too bland if you ask me. Whatever though, it's not my team wearing them.

 

And did I mention I absolutely hate the new cool-base jerseys?

I think the road uniforms look great, I think the Hat is awful. Bruins have had many different alternative uniforms, and I think they have all looked great.

I like the road alts more than the new roads. Hopefully they wear the road alts more than they currently wear the home alts.

I would also like to mention, that its only the away uniforms that they are screwing around with (besides that hideous hanging sox alternative cap, puke) and its not like this is the first time they screwed around with roadies, in fact they do it quite often.

I don't like the Red Sox having any alternate uniforms -- so I certainly don't like them having a home and a road alternate, but they're not bad looking themselves.

the new road uni's are great. it reminds me of being a young sox fan.

i'm hoping that the wife will pick up a #14 for me for christmas...

the only thing i'd change on the road uni's is that the hanging sox logo is a bit large on the arms.

 

when can we get the home '75 uni's as an alternate? i think they are really missing the boat on that one.

Probably a bit harsh. But the only apeal with this uni's is the fact that they look retro. Can you honestly say that these are better than our old road uniforms?

The road uniform has traditionally always been a bit bland.

I think these are actually a little bit more eye appealing than traditional grays because they kind of remind of of a "classic" type look rather than just a simple replica of a home uniform with a tint of gray and the word Boston in the same type of lettering.

 

I really think the hat sucks though. If they were going to go with an alternative hat, like someone else said, I think the 75 hat would have been more appropriate:

Really like the new roadies and the blue alternate. I've been wondering if they'd ever do a blue jersey for a while now. I don't mind the hanging Sox hat either, and for those that don't like it, it's only an alternate. I'm glad they kept the standard "B" as our primary road hat though.

The live pics make the Jersey look cool. The Illustrations do them no justice.

 

 

Get over thet hat everyone. It's just an alternate hat. It's not that bad. What else would they use for a alternate logo? Would you rather have a big "RS"?

 

And yes like I stated earlier yesterday, this could be a reason the Sox left ticket prices alone, knowing that a new apparell line was coming out. Be thankful they just did this instead of jacking ticket prices again.
