Jesus, let's be done with D-Lowe. The grass is always greener on the other side, isn't it.

I just remember his game on July 4th in 2004, when he got shelled against the Braves. Sometimes he was great, sometimes he was downright awful. Let's just move on and not talk about Lowe anymore.

I'd rather hand him the ball every 5th day instead of Wakefield, and I'd prefer Lowe over Bulcholz in 2009.

I might prefer Lowe over Buchholz in 2009 too, but not in 2010, 2011 or 2012, and not for 15 times the cost.

A700, am I crazy here? Do you not remember pulling your hair out when Lowe was on the mound, looking all depressed and helpless as he gave up hit after hit and run after run? Discussions in 2004 about moving him to the pen, HAVING to start him in all 3 final games of the playoffs rather than wanting to start him? I had no problem seeing him go and have no problem watching him sign a nice contract with someone else.

If it's for 3yrs, i could see him in a Sox uniform, he's been solid for the LAD and with the improved Sox defense, i can see him being solid here as well, and he's be the 5th starter if/when Wakefield retires,or gets the boot so i don't see the idea as outrageous.

By the time Bucholz is ready, Wakefield could be retired. Lowe took the ball every 5 days and as frustrating as he can be at times, he is nowhere near the roller coaster stomach churning ride that is Wakefield.

200 innings' date=' league average ERA (or better), improved infield defense.[/quote']

Cheaper and healthier than Burnett or Sheets.

Will probably take discount to play here, and is a good teammate (from what i've read)

It would give me so much more faith in humanity if a couple high-profile stars would just step up and say 'you know' date=' I can't do anything with 20 million a year that I can't do with 40. In light of the average American's struggles at the moment it seems selfish and horrible to hold up the team management for so much more money. I'll take the contract they're offering.' I know it won't happen...but Scott Boras certainly has to have some kind of sway in the decisions to get these guys to say 'no, 4 years, 70 million just isn't enough'.[/quote']

Why would someone wanting to max out his earning potential be selfish?

But....THE SINKER!!!!!

You and your petty details...

In all seriousness, I do worry about the transition back to the ALE from the NLW. However if we can get him for a decent price, sure. Our infield defense is much better. And he likes the Boston sluts.

The problem it's with Boras near-terrorist tactics.

I get all the blah-blah-blah about "If you were a player you'd want him as your agent"

********

I'm not a player, but i did go to law school, this is a 3rd rate country, but i still finished law school, and you know what every teacher in every law class taught me:

Ethics.

That is the f***ing problem with Scott Boras, he's unethical and he doesn't respect the game.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, no other agent pulls the ******** Boras pulls.

To be honest, i didn't have much of a problem with him until i saw the putrid stunt he pulled on the Pirates with Pedro Alvarez, since i already kinda disliked him for the A-Rod opt-out during the World Series.

Come on, those 2 acts are enough to qualify him as a prick and a piece of trash.

Really, all the f***ing media attention simply to get Alvarez to match the other best-paid player of the draft.

Then convincing the PA to file a grievance on the Pirates and then VEHEMENTLY DENYING having to do anything with it?

I mean, he might be the best, but that doesn't mean he's not the lowest of the low.

Because ethics are something a human being can choose to respect, and if you don't, then you're a prick, so, Scott Boras is a f***ing prick.

I was talking about the players.

I know man.

But i tried to explain in first instance that Youk's post was not directed at the player but rather towards Boras.

Sorry for the rant,lol.

As much as people may hate Boras... sports agents HAVE to be unethical if they want to be good. Its a dirty business, and if you play by the rules, you'll lose your client. The agent's job is to make sure the athlete gets paid (by any means necessary), or else he is fired.
