Way I see it seems fine to give him at least a cup of coffee in the bigs, and if he fails we give him a "now you know where you are and where you need to be" speech. And Hansen suffered a mechanical breakdown, what everyone I think is worried about is a Clay Hensley breakdown, but even he bounced back.

If he were a starter, I think the FO would be much more inclined to make him graduate the entire system, i.e. Bowden, not to mention maybe they're a bit more willing now that Masterson has had success, and they both have a similar fastball-breaking ball combo's, except Bard is more of a power pitcher.

If he's not at least given a look, I think it's more about the FO being hesitant due to his track record, and not because of his skills.

This is great news for Clay and it'd be great to see him finish the year in the minors strong. In a recent Globe article it talked about how Clay went back to how he pitched last year (so I'm assuming old armslot?).

Thus far in AA: 15.0 IP, 7 hits, 1 BB, 18 K, 1.80 ERA

Good. Whatever they did to him to give us the '08 version of CB needed to be discarded. Let him finish the year in the minors. If he dominates the rest of the year, maybe give him another MLB shot if they have a playoff spot locked up.

That can't all just be chasing, can it? That's night and day from what he was doing in Boston. Is that the reversion back to the mechanics that worked, or is it just his confidence, or both? It's ponderous.

Kennedy is 34:4 when he was 27:26 in the bigs. There are a lot of factors, mindset, competition, umpires. Give these guys some time

Does anyone else think that Lars's face looks a bit like Pedroia's? Outside of the hair obviously, but his eyes, face structure and facial hair remind me of Pedroia. Also don't forget the sheer concentration. It could be the cider, but it makes sense to me....haha.

Edit: Punctuation...silly me...

They look about as much a like as Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger looked in the movie "Twins".

No way...cmon I still see it. We need a good side by side comparison. I promise you that I'm not crazy...or mentally altered. In THAT particular picture I swear that Lars looks like Pedroia.

But in all fairness I wasn't expecting Lars to look like that from the other pictures that I've seen of him.

I see the similarity. I was just making a joke about their staure compared to each other

Lars is looking better lately. He hit .298/.404/.405 in June.

Yeah' date=' we should DFA him because he only slugged .405 last month.[/quote']

And you keep managing to talk a lot without saying a whole lot of much. Doesn't take a genius to point out that a .400 SLG isn't wonderful. But kudos to you, it's one of the more insightful things I've ever seen you say on this site.

If the number isn't wonderful, why tout it as him "looking better?"

There are worse things than a 21 year old posting a .400 OBP in AA
