Crazy goes a long way in a fight, and no one is crazier than Youk. Joba is a big cream puff. Youk would squeeze the cream out of him. As for Farnsworth vs. Big Papi, Farnsworth had better know some martial arts to offset the immenseness of Ortiz who probably has 60 lbs on him. Some one said it earlier about Ortiz' upbringing in the DR. He was probably pretty poor and you get pretty tough if you have to fight for you food. I seem him crushing Farnsworth's larynx with one hand. Farnsworth has a bit of a chicken neck.

I feel compelled to mention here that growing up in a poor country =/= daily battle royales to get your food. Being Dominican doesn't necessarily make Papi any tougher. Being a large professional athlete, as someone mentioned, does. Of course, pretty much everyone on both teams is a large professional athlete.

And if crazy goes a long way in a fight (and I think you're probably right, though admittedly I have zero experience in the area), who wants a piece of Paps? He's a large dude. And he is undeniably crazy.

You can be poor in a rich country. George Foreman grew up poor and hungry in Houston. He fought for money for food. In his autobiography "By George" he estimates (probably exaggerated) that he had a thousand street fights and that he was undefeated, of course. It doesn't matter what country you come from, kids that grow up poor usually grow up tough. You don't find too many privileged kids making a living in Boxing.

Paps seems like the guy to roundhouse kick someone.

Given the crazy factor, I was thinking more like jamming his bare hand (left hand -- gotta protect that pitching arm) directly into someone's torso and removing the pancreas. But a roundhouse kick is OK too.

a700, you've quoted me as "Bea neater" instead of "Beaneater". Is this some sort of suggestion that I should be cleaner and more organized? :)

Heavyweights:

Craig Hansen Andy Pettitte

Josh Beckett Joba Chamberlain

Javier Lopez Jose Veras

Jonathan Papelbon Kyle Farnsworth

Jason Varitek Jose Molina

Justin Masterson Wilson Betemit

Sean Casey Jason Giambi

David Ortiz Richie Sexson

Sidney Ponson

Middleweights:

Kevin Youkilis Alex Rodriguez

Mike Timlin Darrell Rasner

Tim Wakefield Damaso Marte

Mike Lowell Chad Moeller

Coco Crisp (amateur boxing ability) Xavier Nady

Manny Ramirez

Lightweights:

Clay Buchholz Dan Giese

Jon Lester Edwar Ramirez

Daisuke Matsuzaka Mike Mussina

Hideki Okajima Mariano Rivera

Kevin Cash David Robertson

Dustin Pedroia Robinson Cano

Alex Cora Derek Jeter

Jed Lowrie Bobby Abreu

Jacoby Ellsbury Johnny Damon

Melky Cabrera

Big Guns: David Ortiz, Sean Casey, Josh Beckett, Jon Papelbon, Craig Hansen vs.

Kyle Farnsworth, Richie Sexson, Jason Giambi, Jose Veras

Counted Beckett and papelbon due to surprising height and weight, along with being from the south, which in my mind adds some toughness. Hansen's in there because he's 6'6", Veras is 6'5". Farnsworth for obvious reasons, Casey because of what I saw from him against Tampa, seems motivated and knows how to throw weight around.

Dark Horses: Coco Crisp, Manny Ramirez, Kevin Youkilis vs. Xavier Nady, Alex Rodriguez, Darrell Rasner

Coco has the ability, but would it matter against someone with the reach of say a 6'5" Andy Pettitte? Rest could either be major factors, or big dissapointments

Would be great if they faced off: Youkilis vs. Chamberlain, just to settle this beef that's been brewing since last season. IMO if Youk were confident he would ahve charged by now.

Pedroia vs. Robertson, smallest from each team, who would prevail?

Ortiz vs. Farnsworth, the trained vs. the powerful, if papi gets one solid one in there, it may be over even if Farnsy gets in a bunch.

Manny vs. A-Rod, they deserve each other

Hale vs. Any yankee coach, did you see that takedown of Shields?

Craig Hansen is probably the biggest pussy on the Red Sox. If the Red Sox are going to have a brawl, they should trade for Rudy Seanez.

I was on vacation and now just saw the video from the 7/25 game where Joba threw at Youk. Two things:

1. That pitch hit Youk. On MLB.com it is totally obvious. Go to the "Wrap" page for the game and watch the vid. At exactly 1:22 in to

the video you can see the view from over Youk's shoulder.

2. There is no cure for stupid. (See Gom)

It hit his bat.
