You are the one that keeps bringing up Damon. I said that Crisp was a poor replacement for Damon. I didn't say Damon could still play. When we had Damon' date=' he was an offensive catalyst. Crisp, his replacement, is not. I am not saying that Damon can still play, nor am I saying that Damon is not overpaid. I am saying that Crisp is not a full time starting CF. He's a 4th OF and pinch runner. You don't need to sign 4th OFs to long term contracts. They are roster fillers, not long term commitments. He's not what the FO thought he would be. They thought he was a budding talent. He is not. That was poor judgment. What's your point? Are you saying that he helps the team offensively? This is not a comparison to Damon. It's an evaluation of Crisp.[/quote']

3 years at 15.5 million is not a long term contract.

In fact, that's pretty f***ing affordable for a lot of teams.

How many teams have 4th OFs that hit .260 with no power that have similar contracts for 3 years. I disagree with your view that a 3 year contract is not a long term contract.

When you have two evenly matched team like in your series and this one against the Tribe, sometimes that's the difference maker. A good bounce here, a good bounce there, and it's a different series. There are the two balls off Ass-Dribble's bat you mentioned, Youk's rope in the 9th of game 2 that was within Sizemore's range, Papi getting hit by a ball in play on the basepaths, Lowell's just foul HR in game 3, Lofton's HR having the extra 6" it needed to avoid Drew's glove. It's a game that turns on small amounts of variation.

Right now, it's not looking like it was meant to be for us. So be it, nothing we fans can do to change it.

Trust me, I know how you guys feel. At least you didn't have the plague of locusts we had.

Just how the hell do you scout for that?

There were more breaks/luck going way Guardians way and smacking the Sox in the face. The DP ball killed the game. The error/bobbled ball by Youk. I loved the infield hit at the end of the game. A hard swing, but the ball died on the grass down the 3rd baseline. That was a perfect symbol of the series thus far. Hopefully momentum and luck swings our side for the series.

But one more break for the indian, one more unlucky bounce for us could end our season. Fight.

My god...the Guardians aren't exactly used to that either.

I will make this prediction though. If the Guardians lose Game 5 they will lose the Series.

so, even though your ace will be done for the series, you will make that prediction. Bold. To be honest, I think the sox win game 5 solely based upon CC's apparent ineptitude against teams who wait him out. But I think game 6 vs the fallen from grace Schilling will be where the sox roller coaster ends.

Ever since the "Bloody Sock" game, in Schilling I trust". If Beckett stays away from the long ball and walks no more than 2 batters the series should go back to Boston where "In Schilling I Trust" for game 6. Game 7 is anybody's guess, but if Dice K fails in game 7, he should spill his guts in the ancient Japanese tradition and save the Sox the remaining 5 years of his contract.

in the 2004 version of Schilling you trust is what it should be. Schill was dominant in nearly every start of his postseason career, except the one right out of the gate in NY when he hurt his ankle....until game 2 vs Cleveland in his home park. He is nowhere near the same pitcher.

Agreed but since we don't have a choice it's best to support the big lug.
