Last night was a chance to put the series in a strangle hold and it was theirs for the taking. Too bad for the sox that the Guardians had more fight.

Trollish comment if I ever saw one. Care to explain what "more fight" means?

It becomes rather interesting now as the venue shifts and the sox throw one COLD pitcher in DiceK and one pitcher coming off injury in Wake while the Guardians throw 2 unspectacular pitchers of their own. It is kinda funny how coming in, guys like Carmona and Sabathia and Beckett were talked about as being the keys to the series. But literally, this series hangs in the balance on the starts by Byrd, Westbrook, Wake and a freezing DiceK.

Man I should be scared shitless of Paul Byrd then, after what he did to the Yanks.

If we win Game 3, Wake will start Game 4.

If we lose, it will be Beckett.

So in other words it requires a whole team to win a World Series?....freakin brilliant....I knew we liked having you around for some reason. Nothing like stating the obvious.

I was wondering the same thing. The reason why the Guardians won last night was because the s***** end of their pen (Mastny) performed better than the s***** end of our pen (Gagne and lopez). Definitely a trollish post by jacko. There was no quit in the Guardians but none in the Sox either.

The Guardians had more fight. They both had a lot of fight, but the Guardians had more. It was pretty obvious in that last inning when the Guardians just piled on high and the sox rolled over. You dont need to try and lay this one any other way. The sox gave up that first run in the last inning then just opened the floodgates.

And in terms of the other comment, yeah, it does take a whole team to win it. But coming in, the billing was all about the aces. But with a split in games 1 and 2 AND both teams featuring 4SP's in the series, it is coming down to the worst of them.

So they fought like hell for 10 innings but rolled over in the 11th. Was it past their bed time?

When will Francona learn that you cannot use Eric Gagne unless you have a 12 run lead in a game he has proven all year that he cannot pitch when he needs to and has proven that he cannot do anything but give up runs when it matters so why does Francona continue to go to this guy on a regular basis during important parts of the game.

Classic, textbook mjriv. It's almost like being back at the Herald.

Only if they DL him.

Can we buy him a plane ticket to LA and DFL him?

Seriously, he needs to go immediately. Him warming up is like a pep rally for the opposition.

Gagne sucks. I gave up supporting him when I saw him blow a lead in person at Camden Yards. Enough is enough.

That said, Schilling sucked, and so did Lopez. Unfortunately, so did Lester. There's absolutely no excusing that. When our team can get 6 runs off of Carmona and Perez, that should be enough to win the game.

However, I'm a little more irritated with Gagne because he hasn't even pitched a 1-2-3 inning in his tenure here so far. He NEVER picks up the slack and gives a good outing to pick his teammates up. Enough's enough.

s***** night from all of our pitchers. Not so much Delcarmen, but he almost had his moment.

BTW, should I just make the next gamethread? No mojo is bullet-proof. :dunno:
