What a dumb ass. If you watch, Manny looked pretty shaky on the fly ball and when he saw that he got a bit more agressive. The guy has made a career of being wrong.

They are bringing up a good point about pulling beckett after a breeze of an 80 pitch outing to give them the option of bringing him back on 3 days rest to pitch game 4 and full rest to pitch game 7. This is the way I would go.

Pull Beckett after one more (he's only at 80 pitches now) and pitch him in game 4 in lieu of Wake?

I went into ESPN Gamecast to check Beckett's pitch count, and found a Rob Neyer chat. He answered my question:

ROB NEYER:*No, I'm not allowed to answer that. However, I think I can say this: I *used* to be terribly annoyed by Tim McCarver, but he actually seems to have improved over the last few years. For which he deserves a great deal of credit (assuming that he improved on purpose).

I think they really ought to pull Beckett now. He's better than Wake for game 4, and more importantly, the extra day off in Cleveland puts him at regular rest for a game 7 if there is one. Do it, do it now.

lol! Poor Planning. I got married during the 1981 Baseball strike. My duaghter was born in February, but my son was born on October 30th. On his 19th birthday, we went to the Rolling Rally in 2004. What a birthday gift!

I don't know why McCarver is so certain that Wakefield will pitch game 4. It really depends on the situation after game 3. If the Sox are down 2 games to 1, I have no doubt that Beckett will start game 4. If the Sox are up 3-0, Wakefield gets his start. If the Sox are up 2-1, I'm not so sure, but probably Wakefield.
