still doesnt beat last yrs Okla-Boise game. But this is still amazing

Or this season's App State-Michigan game. That's the only game this season that might be better than this one.

And LSU scores to make it 50-48.

Wow. What a game. Now we a three-team race for the National Championship: Ohio State, West Virginia (if they beat UConn tomorrow), and the winner of the Kansas/Missouri game (who would then have to win the Big 12 championship game). I still think if they did an 8 team tournament, LSU would be my pick to win.

Even if the pats end up with a super high pick, they will trade down....it's in their nature. I think Kansas and WV will play for it all; Kansas has the toughest road though with Missouri and the Big 12 Champ. I am glad LSU lost, I don't think they are as good as advertised....should be an interesting BCS!

Does ANYONE want to play in the BCS title game this year?

In other news, the Bill Callahan era in Lincoln is over. I guess the title of "the dumbest football team in America is no longer the Oakland Raiders' to enjoy."

Oregon losing on the road to UCLA. I guess no one wants to go to a BCS bowl this year.

When you lose Dennis Dixon, it's easy to meet your doom.

BTW, the Mountaineers of West Virginia have something to say about your last comment.

f*** those inbred hicks.

West Virginia is your National Champions. Ain't nobody stopping that offense... South Florida needed six turnovers and Patrick White leaving the game to do it.

I agree with you. Their defense is a little suspect though - if their opposition can keep up with them on offense (I agree, something that is very unlikely to happen), then they could be facing a scare.

WVU should be #1. Not Mizzou. Mizzou is impressive, but they beat a vastly overrated Kansas team. However, that's not to say that they don't deserve the top ranking though.

As long as WV doesn't blow it against Pittsburgh next week (the only way they do that is by getting ahead of themselves), then they'll be playing in the NC game without a doubt. I think WV is a lock, because I can't see them losing to a Dave Wannstedt-coached Pittsburgh team.

However, their opponent should be interesting. Mizzou is definitely worthy of being where they are at this point. If Oklahoma beats Mizzou next week, should Ohio State, currently #3, be their opponent? No. God, I hate the BCS.

I would kill for a 10-team tournament, with #s 1 and 2 getting byes. I'd prefer that 3 or 4 teams gripe about getting shafted from a 10-team tournament than 10-15 deserving teams getting left out of the national championship game.

As a nebraska fan, i couldn't be happier to see him hit the road. I couldn't believe they canned Solich after a 9-3 season for him...now the AD and Callahan is gone!

Disagree. Missouri's OOC is much better than WVU's (beat Illinois, to start) and their loss isn't as bad as WVU's (OU vs. USF).

This whole scenario is really interesting though. Missouri's regular season should have them in the National Championship game (and obviously does, thanks to day's #1 BCS ranking). Thing is, if they lose next week to Oklahoma (who is a slight favorite), then Ohio State will most likely get in to the National Championship primarily because they don't have a conference championship game. In essence, Missouri is being punished for this extra game as they have nothing to gain from it.

Yep. But a lot of teams benefit from Conference Championship games. It's one more game against a highly ranked opponent -- Florida last year comes to mind. I believe they used the SEC Championship game to spring into #2. Unfortunately, Georgia won't be playing in the SEC Championship game this year -- because if they had been, I think them winning the SEC would be enough to leapfrog them over Ohio State, even with their two losses, because Ohio State is not that good -- but we shouldn't get into that because it's moot. I sure wish they were, though, because that would make things very interesting. My prediction?

West Virginia vs. Ohio State in a very lopsided WVU win.

This year, and maybe this year only... I love the BCS. The whole regular season this year really has been like a playoff. I think the regular season loses something if there were to be a playoff -- but if they do eventually go to a playoff, make it four teams, and not eight.

By the way, Nebraska needs to bring somebody in that'll bring back the run, run, run offense to Lincoln. If nothing else it made 'em a lot of fun to watch. Plus, I don't think teams play offenses like that enough to justify putting in a great deal of time trying to figure out how to stop it.

One thing's for sure... if you're comparing the NFL to College Football this year and asking which one better... it's not even close. This college football season has been as exciting as I've ever seen.

edit: By the way, I hate the Gators but I don't want to live in a world where somebody who's done what Tebow has done isn't the Heisman winner.

Can someone explain to me how Kansas is #5 when they haven't even beaten a team that qualifies as one of the "other teams recieving votes" on a top 25 poll, yet Hawaii, who's at least beat a ranked team, sits at 12? It's not that I think Hawaii deserves to be in a position where they could possibly play in the National championship game... but Jesus... they're unbeaten, they deserve mentioning, and definetely to play in a BCS Bowl.

Hawaii may play a weak schedule but it's not their fault -- teams from BCS conferences won't go to the island to play them. Michigan State was schedule to play, but opted out at the last moment. They open next season in Gainesville but the Gators won't let it be a home and home.

Kansas's in conference schedule is much, much better than Hawaii's, even without playing Oklahoma or Texas.

But the fact remains that they haven't beaten anybody. At least Hawaii has, and they haven't lost, either. Which win makes them the #5 team? That game they barely won in Manhattan against 5-7 Kansas State? The game they won against Colorado only because both teams couldn't lose (I watched that game and that was very much the case)? 6-6 Oklahoma State? 5-7 Nebraska? A&M?

At least Hawaii has Boise State.
