I was surprised to him get kinda emotional at the end, he never seems like the type of person to get emotional, even considering the moment, since he has anticipated it for quite some time now.

now let's hope Barry goes away forever...

amen to that, just shut up now that uve done it, and lets not talk about this for a couple years untill arod's at about 720

I'm not as pissed off as I thought I would be' date=' I actually feel somewhat happy for the man.[/quote']

I feel the exact same way. I guess part of it is I'm glad its over, but I think him sort of breaking down when he thanked his father got to me. Reminded me that even through all the controversy and alledged cheating, he is still a human being with emotions. So I guess in that respect I am happy for him.

Good news is A-rod's about 2/3's of the way to breaking it.

this doesn't change the kind of career Hank Aaron had and his amazing accomplishment of 755 home runs no matter how many Barry goes on to hit

Seems Aaron is only remembered for the HR's...what often is forgotten or unknown is where he ranks in other categories:

#3 in hits

#1 in RBIs

#1 in total bases

#4 in runs scored

with a career .305 average

not too shabby

I'm not a Bonds fan, but I honestly couldn't help but smile last night when he hit that HR. It's not everyday you get to see history like that.

Bonds still has nothing on Hank Aaron or Babe Ruth ( that's the case for most of today's greats, not just Bonds.)

In terms of class, or in terms of being better?

Congrats Bonds, I hope this accomplishment brings more light to what Aaron did and how much of a class act he was doing it.

bonds is better than Aaron but not babe ruth ' date=' ruth had a career 1159 OPS[/quote']

WARP3

Bonds - 241.6

Ruth - 237.6

Bonds' glove gives him the edge in terms of the better position player, but Ruth's pitching pushes him ahead of Bonds.
