Also' date=' we should not be losing one game to thes chumps at home, never mind two. That would be disgraceful. What is your cause for optimism?[/quote']

Just my nature dude. Just because I'm a lifelong Sox fans like most out here doesn't mean I have to buy into the "panic" and "let's s*** on certain players or the entire team" when things aren't going great.

Remember when Lugo was beyond f***ing pathetic? What did the fans at the Fens do? Chanted "Let's go Lugo" as opposed to booing him. I honestly think that helped him. I don't care what his salary is etc etc. None of these guys wants to suck but they all have their moments.

Constant negativity just isn't good.

We're going to win this game.

This is a solid point VA. He's not just a good closer' date=' he's a lights out closer. You dont find many.[/quote']

They have another one on the roster. Okajima has been better than Papelbon.

Ace caliber pitchers are even more rare, his value is maximized in that position.

Oki has been better, but he's not a PROVEN closer. First season in MLB. He's been a dream come true in his current role, no doubt. Paps is our closer, period.

What the f*** is this proven closer bull s***? Papelbon wasn't a PROVEN closer in 2006, yet he pitched pretty well.

Why do people believe that pitchers who aren't TUFF CLUTCH N GRITY will suddenly implode in the 9th inning? Okajima would have been fine in the 9th. Why? He's a great pitcher.

OK, while his dream is coming to fruition, let's look foward to watching Tavarez and Gabbard pitch every fifth day.

BTW, this guy said that he wanted to be a starter for the rest of his career in ST.

And then he said he was losing sleep over that decision and wanted to close. Most people were relieved about that decision.

Let's just agree to disagree and see what happens.

the only argument one could make for Paps returning to the rotation would be if there were health issues. There were and maybe are health issues, but he is holding up alright right now. The sox went down the path now, dont change it, and it is too late to change it now.

An opportunity for Papelbon.

Wait, relievers have to pitch in save situations, or they lose their confidence an completely implode, according to riverside.

Papelbon had logged 48 innings to this point, last year.

RIVERSIDE: I thought you were going to a movie? I can still see you lurking in this thread via the "Who's Online" page...

I sometimes leave my computer on a webpage when I leave to do something because I know I'll go there once I get back.

True, but once you're idle for 15 minutes you don't appear online anymore, even if you leave your computer on a webpage.
