Hit his 600th HR last night, which puts him in some very elite company. Hall of famer? Or have steroid allegations, the corked bat and his sudden inability to speak english in front of congress tarnished him enough to keep him out?

And speaking of Sammy Sosa... has anybody seen his wikipedia page, lately?

Sammy had lot of negative things going for him a couple years ago. But the year away seemd to have lessoned the negative around him, and hes back to being Slamming Sammy. As far as HOF goes. Every guy with roid allegations is a tough call.

He's just like the rest of them. A cheater. He should NOT be allowed in. If Pete Rose can't get in for gambling, then these guys shouldn't be allowed in for what they did.

Do you realize that probably 90% of MLB players have "cheated" at some point or another?

Okay, I can understand the A-Rod "Mine!" deal. Technically yes it's cheating. But there's got to be different levels of cheating. Now if A-Rod said "Mine" all the time, then that's a different story. But there's a fine line between saying "Mine" to confuse a fielder to reach a base than someone juicing up to add another big fly to their stats.

Sammy belongs in the HOF. Yes he probaby took steroids, but it was common and "acceptable" back then. Cheating has always been around. I bet that if someone had offered Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron a drug that bulked them up, they would have taken it. Steroids help, but you don't become an elite slugger by just taking steroids. Their numbers are inflated, but they are/were great hitters nontheless.

if mcguire cant make it in then sosa shouldn't make it either

Sammy Sosa has more career home runs, a much better career batting average and leads McGwire in many offensive categories. Sosa also is still playing and he has been pretty fairly decent this season so there's nothing to say that he can't play at least another year or two longer. This is not one of those scenarios where if one doesn't make it, the other shouldn't either...Sosa has been consistently better than McGwire throughout their careers.

Okay, steroids and HGH help increase your brain power and your eyesight (remember, brains and eyes are muscles too) so you can see the ball better and wait just a bit longer to swing and make contact.
