Is it theoretically possible for Coco to mash? Like' date=' sure a guy like Ortiz can mash...or Manny can mash...but Coco? I feel like he's more of a "gently smush" guy rather than a "mash" guy.[/quote']

4 for 4 with 2 homers is mashing for anyone.

Lugo, shut the f*** up and go sit down.

f***-you-Lu-go *clap clap, clap clap clap*

You know what really hurts? Checking the box score on my wife's cell phone and then watching down on the field as Orlando Cabrera is hitting singles, doubles, stealing bases, making dazzling plays in the infield while we are stuck with a guy who has forgotten how to play baseball. Is it possible the Rays saw this happening last summer and dumped him on the Dodgers.

Another surprise! Mark Loretta is hitting up a storm, and, get this, playing a dazzling shortstop. He made a fantastic six-to three double play by leaping over a runner and getting the second out at first. He also got a three run double, single and a rope to center. Maybe it's the atmosphere around our shortstop. We need to be snakebit there, not that it would made any difference with the way Curt pitched tonight.

One more thing. Will someone please tell me why our brilliant manager had Jason Varitek batting fifth??? He has done that before with disastrous results and I thought he was over that, but apparently not. Varitek has never been a fifth hitter and never will be.

All we can do is call it a night and get them tomorrow.

Ya i know, i saw a 04clip this morning and saw ocab making some killer plays. I have always been in the ocab camp. I prefer lugo to rent, but i wish they had never gotten rid of ocab.

FWIW and definetly small sample size. But Coco over the last 7 games:

.476/.522/.810/1.332 , a lot influenced by last night however the previous 6 games before last night he hit .353/.421/.412/.833. Just bringing it up since Coco worked with the hitting coach and reworked and changed his stance in the batters box in the past week. So something to keep an eye on.

MTB, that is why I hate going to Angels games with my wife. She loves that team, convinced me to buy her a 23 game package this season. Every time I go with her I see OC playing up a storm and the guy is doing everything out there---hitting ropes, making dazzling plays at short, stealing bases just about every game I see him, and playing the role of leader for his team. There has to be more than meets the eye as to why we were so lame not to resign him. Something tells me there was something afoot that negated our chances of bringing the guy back. Right now that stands as our biggest blunder the past few seasons. I mean the guy has been electric, hitting over 340 and getting better by the day.

A very encouraging sign Rdsx-----and we need another bat getting hot in the worst way. With Schilling apparently becoming less effective we need to score more runs to pick up the slack and that is also why I want Lester up as soon as he's ready. It means we can put Taverez back as middle reliever and alleviate a problem there. Unless there is a drastic turnaround by the guy, I think Timlin has just about shot his wad for us. Sad in a way because I have always been a Timlin man.

I remember hearing something about ocab like "there's more going on behind the scenes problem wise" but i never actually heard what it was. He seemed to get along fine with teamates,ect....so if anyone has any info it would be appreciated.

Going a bit off-topic:

Holy hell, that Braves bullpen really got revamped in one off season huh?

What does that have to do with Carbrera Schill??? My point is that the guy is tearing up the league, and Loretta is playing quality shortstop in place of the injured Adam Everett and when Adam comes back and the Astros fall further behind maybe Mark might be available to bring back to our team for some key hitting and defense, not to mention some class to the roster.

This season, Theo can not sit and do nothing. This thing can be won by us and once we get into the playoffs we have as good a chance as anyone. We have to start playing liket he Yankees are currently playing and that way we wouldn't have to worry about them.

Mark Loretta does not have the range to play SS. He plays the groundballs that he actually gets to well, but he's not a SS, especially not for this team.

BTW, it had nothing to do with Cabrera. That's why I said "Going a bit off-topic..."

SeaDoucheBagFred going off on his stupid rants about classy baseball players past their prime.

Schill, what does this have to do with classy gentlemen? You know who was a classy guy? Dean Martin. He had a way with the ladies. I'm hoping we can bring him to the Red Sox. He brings class to the roster. Volare! Whoaaa oh oh oh! Sorry, but that reminds me of a time when I did karoke in Nepal. Everybody was laughing at me, and my wife was gaping at me in horror. Sometimes, she yells at me, because I'm such a douche. Anyway, what were we talking about? I hope to see you at Fenway Park, because I'm a big Red Sox fan. I've been a fan since October 27th, 2004 around 11:45 PM.

Time is fast approaching when we are going to have to do something about our shortstop hole unless Lugo starts hitting, and I would advise you to warn Crespo about getting personal with me. I'm here to talk baseball and take any s*** from him. He's using a term those three jerks at DB used and I'm not going to stand for it from him. Through you he's been warned.

Crespo, you had better back off and back off fast. You are not to respond to any of my posts and I will not respond to any of yours. You like acting like douche from DB, fine, go there, but getting personal with me is not going to be stood for. And, by the way, if you had half a brain you would know some friend of yours from that board posted that piece of crap you quoted. Now go back to fights and crap or climb back in your crib. This topic is for baseball people.

I'm crying. Seriously, I have never laughed as hard as I am, right now.

That's not getting personal? Hypocrite.

Fred, use the ignore list. There's nothing you can do to stop him from saying it. I'm not going to stop him from saying it either because I'm not going to moderate what he can and can't say. However, I can advise you to stop responding.
