Just heard it on WEEI's sportsflash. They fired Eddie Murray (i think) and hired billy as their new hitting coach. Surprise move because the dodgers are 2nd in batting I think...anyway congrats to billy.

This is a good deal for the Dodgers. Since day one of this year, they were swinging at way too many first pitches. Murray never worked on patience at the plate.

Hopefully Mueller can fix that, even though he's younger than some of the guys on the team. (Kent, Gonzo, etc.)

The Red Soxification of the Dodgers continues.

I don't see it.

Aside from Nomar, Lowe, and some coaches, who else?

The Red Sox have Cora, Drew, and Lugo. The same could be said about the Sox.

Easy there, I think you are having a problem with the Dodgerification of the Red Sox. Judging by their track record it would not shock me to see Kent in a Sox uni next year, or at least Marlion Anderson and the other Lugo.

This is true also. It seems like both teams have/had about an even number of players from each side.

Dodgers to Red Sox - Julio Lugo, JD Drew, Dave Roberts, Alex Cora

Red Sox to Dodgers - Bill Mueller, Nomar Garciaparra, Derek Lowe, Grady Little

It's about even. I can't remember any others, but if I'm missing any please add.

The Sox dont need a 2nd baseman next offseason, another new shortstop perhaps

If the Sox don't re-sign Lowell, they could move Youk to 3rd and have Kent at 1st.

I wouldn't want that, but it's possible. Doesn't Kent have experience at 1st? I feel like I remember that from somewhere.

Ah yes he does experience there, kudos for the heads up. He has 93 games experience at 1st base. The most he has had in a season is 30 games in 2001

Ken Rosenthal on Dale and Holley today said that there are rumors that the sox are trying to move deuce to the twins to make room for Tex from Tex....thus moving Youk back to third. Who knows if there is any validity to it or not.

Move makes no sense. Lowell is hitting the ball and they were playing well before this. They need to trade coco for a powerhitting CF.

I highly doubt the Sox have enough to trade for Teixera' date=' or at least enought to beat out the Angels and Bodgers, both looking for a 3B.[/quote']

It doesn't matter. When was the last time the Rangers won out on a trade?

Why would they want Teixeira if they're looking for 3B?

Ohhhh, gotcha. Sorry I should have thought that's what you meant.

In that case, I can't imagine the Rangers would take whatever the Sox were to give them over what the Dodgers or Angels have to offer. I mean, other than Ellsbury or one of the B's.... in which case I'd be pissed.

If they could sign Tex for a decent deal( not the 100M Boras is blowing up eveyones ass) then ya hed be greta for the team. At this point in time if Texas would take Bard and maybe a OF prospect(not Ellsbury) I'd do the trade. Bard has a huge ceiling with his fastball, but is lacking in secondary pitches and will most likely be a RP. Maybe we can convince Texas hes a starter and they bite LOL
