With the Pirates no doubt ready to lay down like dogs again to the Yankees, if we want to keep our ten game lead over them we sure as heck better make it our business to win this game today. It won't be easy but it can be done if we get a stellar performance from Daisuke and our key hitters come alive with some big base hits. It would also be fine if somehow Lugo and Crisp found a way to find first base again. I only hope Theo is looking into some trades to upgrade the rest of our team because it becomes evident that Cocopops is just about beyond hope and Lugo seems unable to get out of his funk. Bad for me because I was talking him up, too, before the season started as just the spark we needed at the top of the order. Looks like I blew that one.

Did I hear that last night Chase Field had its largest crowd ever? Even more than the world series? That's cool. It may as well have been a gigantic mall. There had to be SOMEONE there that worked in a department store. Anyway, we're giving thanks today to an unappreciated contributer to department stores and their success...

Today we salute you, Mr. Department Store Mannequin Dresser Upper.

Mr. Department Store Mannequin Dresser Uuuupper!

You live the ultimate fantasy.

Spending your day surrounded by naked women who never speak.

Livin' the dreeeeammm!

Wooden nubs, plastic no-nos, artificial hoo-has...

You've handled more fake female parts than a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon.

They should be reeeaaal!

Your hours are flexible. Even better...

So are the women you're undressing!

Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh!

So crack open an ice-cold Bud Light oh Mack Daddy of the Mannequin.

When it comes to undressing fake women, you're the real man.

Mr. Department Store Mannequin Dresser Uuuuuppeeeerrrrr!!

Well, with Randy Johnson on the mound you guys should be getting into there bullpen early, no matter how well he pitches. A couple of starts ago he had a one hitter after six innings against the Phillies, and they didn't let him start the seventh. I don't think he had even thrown 80 pitches.

its always funny listening to out-of-town announcers trying to guess if the pitch they just saw was a gyroball or not

Ya...i have been pleasantly surprised this weekend though as the announcers (FSN Arizona on Friday and DBacks TV sat and sun) have been the best announcers I have heard so far this year....that is for opposing teams when MLBTV isn't doing the NESN feed. I wish I could get NESN all the time:)

Like buttah. He doesn't seem to get consistent depth with the change/fork. Several of them seem to start their break about 20' out of his hand.

Ball 8 against Manny. The supporting cast needs to step up, because Manny isn't getting jack to hit from Yertle.
