For the love of god guys, just ignore them. Don't quote their posts, don't respond to them. Don't mention LAD, don't mention California.

How can you give him a solid B? He won with mainly Duquette guys, and Foulke and Schilling were Lucchino moves. We haven't won a playoff game since he dismantled the 2004 team, and he's set records for most money spent without a playoff win (2005) and largest payroll to miss the playoffs (2006). That is horrible, and is more like D- than a solid B.

We should get a good GM.

i'll say this about theo...he seemed more effective when he didnt have total control like he has now....then again, maybe its just a coincidence, in any case im not gonna scream for his head like other trolls here (who have since been banned) do, but im not really to light a candle at his altar and not question his moves either.

i'd give nancy and lugo till the all star break....if they can't get it together, it might be time to leave them on the bench and see if someone else can get the job done.

eZ, I think you're a spot-on with your take on Lugo, but with Drew I think this guy is going to turn out just fine for the Red Sox. Of course, if he does I'm only batting one for two because if you've been following this discourse over the past few months I was really talking up Lugo as just the guy we need to lead off, steal a ton of bases and hit 12-15 homers. I hope he comes around because I really like him even though I was pissed he couldn't even lay down a damn bunt yesterday. Just be grateful that the Dodgers don't have the Yankees in their division to contend with. Not only do they have the best hitting in baseball but you never know when George Steinbrenner is going to slam down a nice big fat check for some reinforcements which seems to do every year, not that he needs anymore than he has.

back to lugo..... he's hitting .125 this month ' date=' ive been backing him up saying he'll come around but it dosent look good at this point[/quote']

redsoxrules, I'm in there with you. I've been a big Lugo backer and we are just going to have to ride this out and hope that he comes around. I threw up a trial balloon suggesting we might look into trying to get Jack Wilson from the Pirates. I think a change of scenery to a winning atmosphere would be just what the doctor ordered for the guy. I also hear someone else here beat me to it and suggested the same thing. Something to ponder.

Lugo isn't going anywhere in my opinion. People seem really frustrated with him, but I guess I'm just not. He has 30+ RBI, so he's making his limited hits count. He is bound to produce better from here on out. This guy should be batting 9th in the order, which (again) is why I advocate so strongly for Ellsbury in CF.

The weakness of this team is really CF. Either your CF or SS need to be good production guys in the AL or else your team will not compete with teams that have that depth. I've said a million times that I see Crisp on the bench. Lugo and Crisp's speed really is special and something this team has not had in a long time. So to have a SS with + speed I guess it offers something, if he can bunt and move runners over a la Alex Cora. If he can just do that he will be okay.

lolz...we may not have the yanks, but we have our own nemesis in san diego http://www.mixxer.com/download/personal/7fe0855ef0069a491430f88c5e00d8ed.gif/7fe0855ef0069a491430f88c5e00d8ed.gif.

the only thing we can count on is the notoriously cheap madres most likely arent gonna break the bank adding an impact player before the trading deadline.
