Drew with a Gabe Kapler' date=' full of guts and determination dive.[/quote']

Too bad he doesn't have any Harry Potter in him... perhaps a little magic could have made that play go from 'determination' to 'catch'.

So yeah, the Hartford Courant had these stats printed today:

Over the next 20 games, if the Sox go 10-10 and the Yankees 20-0, the Yanks will still be .5 games behind. If the Sox play .500 ball up till the 100 game mark, the Yankees would have to go 40-18 to have the same record the Sox would.

if anyone actually thought a knuckleballer without any other formidable pitch would stay under a 2 ERA, then I have some swampland in florida for sale, real cheap. Wake is a .500 pitcher who will give you 200 innings and be in the 4-5ERA range so long as he is healthy.

It's still not enough ceiling for me.

Uhh nobody thought he'd have a sub 2 ERA. You're pulling that out of your ass.

I am just saying, some people seem shocked that he is having a tough time of late. He is an innings eating, back of the rotation starter who started out of his mind.

Shocked? No. It's just he's not pitching well tonight. And we're not happy.

Umm we're not shocked, most of us have been saying that he's settling into one of his bad stretches where its just bad to watch him pitch

Get off your high horse, everyone knows he's not an ace

Wake ONLY throws batting practice. It's whether his BP floats a certain way that matters. People who say that Wake should stay in the rotation until he retires should take note. I love Wake for his 200+ IP capabilities, and his loyalty and dedication to all things Red Sox, along with his ability to pitch in and win big games. But there are definitely better pitchers out there, pitchers who don't require a personal catcher.

I've said it before, its not just this start that makes me cautious.

Thats just stupid. Tim Wakefield always has tough stretches. Nobody would be shocked...christ a few of us even said "looks like Wake is going into one of those tough stretches"

Don't be retarded we all know what Tim Wakefield is capable of....he's been in the league long enough that you know what you get.

With Wakefield on the mound and Mirabelli throwing to 2nd....these guys might as well walk to 2nd

It's always so painful to watch.

I love Torre running into an out right before the walk. As an in-game manager, he's a godsend for the Sox.
