Thats rediculously ignorant and shortsighted.

I agree that it is early, but his stats so far are all we have to go on.

Don't get me wrong. If anyone can successfully make the jump from Japan as a pitcher, it's DiceK. But so far he's lacked control, and the Yankees have had no problem hitting him.

Not quite. Beckett's been in the league for years and has proved he can be successful.

But still after his first season in Boston, Yankee fans everywhere (def including this site) were calling him a bust

great move by the Yankees. I dont care what anyone else says but if he pitches like he did the last couple year he'll get his share of wins with an ERA under 3.50.

But lets not give the Yankees the AL East yet. They still have some bullpen issues and the rest of the rotation is questionable.

Havent heard from you in awhile.

That's because I am biding my time. Plus, my team has sucked recently.

And this is why you should never dispute the moniker of troll again. You can't take the heat when things aren't rosy, so you wait until they are. Here's to a long wait.

ESPN--

Clemens' contract will be a pro-rated salary of $28 million dollars, according to ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney. His pro-rated salary last season was $22 million.

Clemens will make about $4.5 million per month for June, July, August and September.

Ok. That's worse than the $25M I was using as an example. For that amount of money, they can have the 44-year-old. And don't ever criticize the Matsuzaka move ever again. He's younger, has more pitches, and we have him for quite a long time. We're getting a lot more out of our deal than the Yankees are out of theirs.

Eh, let me re-phrase that last sentence. The Matsuzaka deal is a lot better. If Clemens helps bring a world series to NY, they'll get quite a lot out of it.

$28M x 1.40 (luxury tax) x .67 (prorate) = $26.2M for 20 starts (if he makes them all)

He better be good. I'll bet Matsuzaka's FIP is lower than his at the end of the year too.

*YAWN* So does this mean that the Yankees will now finish three games back of the Sox instead of five or six?

I thought you'd make a return today. :D

Wait, didn't he predict we would take 3-4 from the A's last year right after the allstar break, and then we ended up losing 3-4 and started to suck for the rest of the season?

Posted
Nope he predicted that we would lose 3 of 4 to the A's and then it turned out to be unfortunately right

Oh, yeah I knew it was something like that though.

sounds like Jeters been telling Roger to goto NY for a while

A.) Where the money is

B.) Where Pettite is

only 2 things that matter to clemens

The Yankees' good luck charm is back!

Good for you Yank fans. Better in NY than Boston. I thought he'd stay in Houston honestly.

Enjoy being back in the AL......maybe he'll do as well as Pettitte.

I'm truly happy for Optimist as she is very psyched!

See ya in the 5/21-5/23 series Raja.....

under 3 era... Are they crazy? He hasn't had a sub 3 ERA since 98. Thats 8 years ago. He'd be lucky to post a sub 4 ERA pitching in the AL East at 44. I think 12 wins is a stretch. I think he'll have 10 wins or less.

Updated predictions

Phillips only said this has saved Torre's job for now

Orel Hersheier (spelling?) said 12 Wins, era around 4

John Kruk... he said even with the addition of Roger, the Yankees wont make the playoffs. His main reason being that bullpen

Posted
Who said that? I just watched it' date=' don't think anybody said that.[/quote']

The very beginning of baseball tonight I did hear that staement come from the main baseball tonight, cant think of his name now. He clearly said you know Roger will be good for 12 Wins, 100 Ks, an ERA under 3
