Ahhh I just turned it on I missed the first part. Tie game!

Brief summary:

Dice-K walked a bunch of dudes, a hit, some errors, 5 runs. Sox smacked Ramirez around last half inning to tie it.

Oh yeah, and TedWilliams101 is rainman. Definitey, yeah...definitely game over... definitely, uh oh, uh oh....hmmm, Sox scored runs...yeah...

So' date=' for those of you who say Manny is irreplaceable, take that AB as part of your data set. He hit the ball hard, but that shouldn't have been a DP. There are other guys who wouldn't slack down the line. I like the guy, he's a phenomenal hitter, but irreplaceable--when taking all of his skills into account--he is not.[/quote']

What hurts more is that we see him doing it in crucial situations

Matsuzaka has retired 8 straight. Strange breed of pitcher to follow. Some innings he'll be like in the first where he cant find the zone, the rest he looks like the ace he is capable of being. Like Beckett last year, 2007 is all about transition for Dice

Hey hey, OneRedSeat, I never said the game was over, all I said was f***, and Jesus f***ing christ. How does that translate into game over? I'd love to see that conversion. Those words translate into "damn, this sucks and were in a bad possition". It was some other dude who actually said game over.

I am still pretty confident that 6 years from now at the end of his contract none of us will regret him having been a Red Sox.

As for Manny, I was addressing both his slacking down the line, but also the fact that he's just slow. There are so many more OFs who could at least make that and other plays into plays rather than easy outs. I'm just sick of the loafing, whether intentional or unintentional.

Damn, if Matsuzaka got those kind of calls it would be 5-0. They need get more questec parks and be harsher on the umps, they've been horribly inconsistent league wide thus far this year.

Whats the synopsis on Dustin Pedroia....after seeing this kid for a month and swinging the bat....is he out of his league? You can't expect any power out of him and right now any hits are simply a bonus. With the offense we can get away with it but....what are the chances he becomes an all star?

Hey ORS, I got here late. How was the strike zone to Dice-K? Was he close or was he all over the place in the 1st? I imagine he wasn't right on, but were there a lot of borderline calls?

that pitch looked a little high... to Pedroia. To most hitters it is a strike and he should expect it to be a strike.

Not in my mind. You know this, but the zone is determined by the plate and the batter. This ump sucks if he can't change the zone like he's supposed too, and Dustin should not change his approach because this guy blows goats.

I still think he's got a good chance at being a very good player. I'm not ready to come to any conclusions about a guy who is only 23 years old. Give up too early and you'll see him as an All-Star in a few years.

He was pretty wild, but he had a few borderline calls all go the other way too. I'm not trying to relieve him from blame because he looked like s***...like he always does in those weird innings.

Dice was showing frustration at some borderline pitches that were called balls. The 3rd walk on 2-2 I believe' date=' he acted like "what the f***"[/quote']

He should get used to the smaller zone, and trust his stuff more. s*** let them hit it and change speeds and you should be fine. I haven't seen very many hard-hit balls off him all year.

Yup, I know the look of shittiness of which you speak.

He will hopefully eventually get to the point where he gets those 'close calls' like most ace level pitchers do, but while he may have had that in Japan he won't get it here until he proves himself.

All-Star if he plays in the NL....I'm still not sure....I guess I can see him turn into a Mark Loretta/David Eckstein but I wonder how long it will take. Not a big deal because again we can deal with it. This team can survive easily even with the current 2B lineup.

Pedroia, an all-star. haha, thats funny. I don't think he'll ever be an all-star. He could be solid, but I don't think he's allstar material.

Oh Youk.

Oh Daisuke. No more walks. Ichiro isn't going to hit one out to RF, let him swing with 2 outs.

Ichiro will be on 2nd in 3 pitches.

You're confident about your assessment of this 23 year old?
