only 1 draft pick this year, buts its turning out to be a very good draft for the Pats.

 

1st round--Merriweather

1st round--traded for a 1st round pick next year that could easily be a top 10 pick

2nd round--Welker

4th round--Randy Moss

 

sounds like a good draft to me

a 2nd rounder for Welker looks like a poor investment to this point. Welker will be a 3rd down possession receiver with Stallworth and Moss running the slots.

but getting randy moss is huge, he isnt the old randy moss anymore but in the pats offense he doesnt need to be the only guy catching balls anymore. now we just have to wait and see how well that sits with him, a superbowl ring is pretty good reason to keep your mouth shut though :thumbsup:

This is a great move for the NE Patriots and the best part was the restructured deal. Any issues with Randy Moss and he can be released. I really believe Randy Moss wants to win. The reason he was such an issue in Oakland was because the team sucked and his problems in Minnesota contributed to the play of Daunte Culpepper (a very overrated QB ). Randy Moss needs to walk into this situation understanding that he will not necessarily see the football more than anyone in a game but they will win.

The HERALD said it fell through and every other credible news source says it didn't. I think it went through.

It did go through. He passed his physical and the raiders used the pick. He restructured his contract so that if he flares up off the field the Pats can release him. All this guy wants is to be in a situation where he can win a superbowl, too bad we can't do that for him, but we can put him in the position to win 3 maybe?

I wouldv'e rather given up a 5th for him but now that we've restructured the deal I'm okay with it. Moss should be good for at least one season (like Corey Dillon) and it will be great to watch this team be one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL. We should rank in the top 10 offensively and defensively. If we don't win the Super Bowl it will be a big dissapointment, because I don't know how you stop this team now. Pending Maroney has a bad year we are seemingly unbeatable.

if you make Moss a focal point of your offense, he is happy. if you dont, he will not be happy. The guy is an all world talent. If you give him the ball, good things happen.

This trade makes the Patriots clear cut favorites to win the superbowl. I thought they were allready in good shape to make another run, and this IMO puts them on another level. I can't wait to watch this team next season. This is exciting news, and a nice 18th Birthday present!

Its a steal IMO the Pats were able to get Moss from the Raiders. I was thinking before if we did get him, it wouldve been with their other 1st round pick
