Now i ask Jackson....If yesterday was a monumental victory, what the hell does todays mean?

:D :D :D

that we are right back where we started from yesterday. Yesterdays win made us stay in the race. Today's loss really hurt. I expect this was Torre final Yankee game.

What a luxury to have a guy like this in the bullpen! Now, we know how Yankee fans felt for years in the 9th.

BTW: The Yanks are back in last place, right where ARod is most comfortable.

16-8, keep this train rolling

Oh yea Paps! 8 for 8 now in save opportunities

Who know? Tavarez holds the Yankees to 3 runs in 5 innings, his fledgling life as a red sox starter has probably earned him another start or 2

The bullpen remains the best in the game!

The offense continues to click. Cora will starting earning himself some more nods at 2nd base due to his great start. I hope that was Manny's start of a great season.

And wow I was looking for a miracle and I got it! :) Once in a Blue Moon Mojo did something right

He's done a very creditable job in the 5th spot.

Good bounce back today. Took away whatever momentum yesterday gave them. Chased their "ace" with JT getting a W. He's now 2-2 against the likes of Millwood (meh), Halladay (x2), and Wang. I don't want him to keep getting starts, but I can't shake my head at that.

He's been hit or miss, 2 good starts in 4. Still would like to see more innings. Where was I beating up the guy? It should be obvious to anyone he's just a stop gap pitcher. Roger or Lester if the Sox see steady improvement should take that spot

You are overstating my point. My point was' date=' our lineup is TOUGHER with Posada and Matsui in the lineup. They take pitches, they have good ABs, etc. My point is rock solid.[/quote']

Jackson, I can only speak for myself where the Red Sox are concerned, but they are the kind of team that can confuse the hell out of you. Yesterday we should have been top heavy favorites to win the game and what happenend? We sprung a real leak, or, for you, Igawa really came back big time. Today you have your ace going and have our mostly ineffective No. 5 starter going for us. Know what? I had bad feelings about yesterday's game before it started and good vibes today. Now if that isn't wierd I don't know what is.

From my standpoint, if we can get Manny hitting again ( made a good move today), and get Lester into our rotation we would have the left starter a good team needs, and can use Julian for long man status. Surprise of surprises, our bullpen has really been good and when you can stop the Yankees in their ballpark two out of three times you have to be very elated. Of course, until we swept you guys last week we had a better record the last year at YS than at Fenway. Again, go figure.

First Riverside, congrats on yor mojo today. I had a good feeling seeing your name in the opening post and I promised myself I wouldn't be on board during the game as I was yesterday and would just hold my tongue until the game was over. Strange; I had better vibes about this game when I got up this morning that I did about yesterday. Can't say that after yesterday's game, though. After our loss yesterday I thought we mind be gone gooses today. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do for one's outlook.

The Yankees have led in all 6 games the 2 teams have played together. Their record is 1-5.

AND I LOOOOOOOOVE THAT DIRTY WATAHHHH

16-8 BITCHES!

Bite my tongue for even hinting it Coco, but I get the impression that our team is actually looking forward to playing the Yankees with no fear whatsoever. Well as long as we respect the Yankees and take the attitude that if we play our game we will win, well, then, that is ok with me. Never diss the Yankees is a smart adage, but some old time Red Sox fans (some on this board may care to comment) used to tell me how they always had deep reservations every time a Yankee series began. As you may know, this is only my seventh season being a Red Sox maniac and I don't seem to see that among Red Sox fans anymore. If anything, there seems to be a very cocky air about my Bosox colleagues.

Red, Jeter once said in late 2005 in the NY Papers that there was no carryover from one game to another with the two teams. I sure as hell doubted that from the get-go last year in that less than memorable August series, but he may have been right. We sure kissed off yesterday's disappointment and really took it to them today. Think of this, if memory serves me right all five games we've beaten the Yankees this year were come-from-behind jobs. Does that sound like a team on a mission? Doing it against the lordly Yankees is an extra bonus. If we can only build on this it could be a great season for us.

What of our bullpen???? I keep pinching myself to convince myself that it is for real and it sure seems that way.

How many times do we face the Yankees this year? 18? 19?

Eighteeen yeszir! Now don't ask me how we got down from 19 to 18, but it had something to do with a more balanced schedule which I don't know what the hell they meant by that.

Does momentum really exist?

I think it means we have to play tougher teams, like the Devil Rays, more often. :(
