I'm not worried at all. Dice K looked amazing except for that one inning and he came out with a vengence the next inning. Hopefully he'll take that anger out on the Yankees in his next start. It should be fun to watch!

Man Dice-K has pitched much better than his 1-2 record shows. The guy pitched great tonight just other than Pena none of the Sox gave him any support they couldn't get anything going at all I mean 1 run on 7 hits common you have to be scoring more than that off 7 hits. Tomorrow Wake is going, and I know the bats are going to come alive against Ohka.

I wasn't very impressed with Pena. Sure he did hit a homer, but give me a break, all he can hit are fastballs. When will pitchers stop serving them up to him? I have yet to see him even hit an offspeed pitch.

 

But I have to admit, it looks like progress. I'd love to see WMP learn to have productive at bats. But it really didn't prove much. We already said that WMP strength is huge power on fastballs. You serve him up a fastball down the middle of the plate and he hits it hard. The problem is, thats the only pitch he can hit.

 

But please, please don't mistake my opinion on WMP as me not liking the guy or rooting against him. I hope he hits a homer in every game he plays.

This kid is pitching incredibly. I don't think we have anything to worry about! His next start will be a "w" and the Sox bats will wake up when he is on the mound. There is only so much a pitcher can do to keep his team in the game! But the Sox bats will wake up!

I think you could be right! It's still very early in the season! Wait until the end, I believe there will be a huge difference!

How do you know he'll get a "W" next time on the mound? The Yankees' lineup is downright dominant whether you like it or not. Mientkiewicz is their only glaring concern (offensively), but you can sacrifice that offensive piece for his defense when you have a lineup as dominant as theirs. I agree in that Matsuzaka pitched a great game. I just wish he didn't have to go up against a young stud (King Felix) or a Sox killer (Chacin) 2/3 times.

I think it's pretty simple. We lost because Gustavo Chacin bends the Sox over and doesn't use lube when he pitches against them. The annoying thing is that Gonzo probably has that groundball to turn the DP that Lugo missed. It's annoying, but then again, the Sox won't score only one run too many times. I'll live with sacrificing a bit of defense for an offensive upgrade. Besides, you need offense out of your shortstop anyway (while at the same time holding his own defensively).

I am really worried if DiceK starts the season 1-3, people will be all over him fair or unfair. He has pitched great so far this season and with any luck he could be 3-0. Let's hope he continues to pitch well and evens up his record on Sunday night, Ive heard the weather is suppose to be nice. Plus we are going up against Chase Wright, who we should crush but probably won't because we have major troubles with Lefties who throw about 86-90 MPH, which is mind boggling.
