32-year-old Erubiel Durazo has reportedly inked a minor league contract with the Yankees.

GM Brian Cashman didn't confirm the signing when asked. Durazo was hitting .354/.446/.582 with nine homers in 158 at-bats in the Mexican League, though that OPS ranked him behind guys like Carlos Rivera, Jose Ortiz and Geronimo Gil, as well as former Yankees Karim Garcia and Ruben Rivera. While we like the move for the Yankees, it seems clear that Durazo just isn't what he once was.

Jeez not that long ago, Durazo was big bat for the A's

Roger (Don't Mistake Me for Hansack) Clemens pitched 8 innings of 5 hit 1 run ball today. He now has lowered his ERA to 3.63. I guess he was just facing another weak hitting team today.

And 12 in the win column. Have fun winning those 2 extra games. PRESSURE'S ON!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Don't mind me. I'm frustrated as hell from tonight and I think I'm becoming numb to it. I feel weird.

Do you live in NY? I'll pay for your plane ride/gas needed so you can get to Boston and then join you so we can ensure that this happens.

For the first time all year Cano, Matsui, and Abreu are all hitting at the same time. The all star break is certainly not coming at a good time for the offense, but it is for the pitching. Wang will get some more time for the finger/nail to heal properly, and hopefully it will give Pettitte time to work out whatever is wrong with him. It also allows them to bump Igawa all the way to the back of the rotation.

Pettitte has been nothing short of bad in three of his last four starts (@COL, OAK, LAA). He really needs to get back on track tonight against a team that's struggling.

Well, not a lot of Yankee chatter here tonight. They played a pretty good game all around. Pettitte did not pitch exceptionally well, but he did enough to keep them in the games. They swung the bats well tonight, and the bullpen was great tonight. Although it's against the Devil Rays, the Yankees have really struggled on the road this year, so it's nice to see them get the first game of the series.
