and I think this depth stops the overtaxing come next week. This DHer screws things up by forcing us to throw Igawa, Rasner, and DeSalvo mixed in with Wang over a 4 day stretch. After that, the rotation will be Pettitte, Mussina, Igawa, Wang, and either Rasner or Desalvo. 3 out of 5 slots will give 6IP a start, one will be a wild card and the 5th slot will likely be goot for 5IP a night regardless of how good (Torre has no faith in either) or how bad (he knows now that its best to burn a start for the sake of the pen) they perform. Talk to me in June, when the pen gets their legs back under them.

BTW, I think I saw that the yankees will set a record with 10 different SP's in their first 30 games. That wont last forever.

Igawa just gave up his 3rd home run to tie the game' date=' and then he threw at Ichiro's head and flipped him on the next pitch.[/quote']

Iguana just needs to get consistent because he's durhty.[/jacko]

Vidro singles, batted around without making an out. Six have scored and sacks are loaded. Kill the pen tonight, and don't they have a minor leaguer on tap for tomorrow? Matt "Giving Up" DeSalvo?

EDIT: Oops, didn't see Beltre fly-out.

Vizciano could be effective if Joe Torre hadn't set a record and taken only a month to murder his arm. Anyways, I'd rather have his arm in the bullpen and the young guys we got than 43 year old Randy Johnson (6.15 ERA, .300+ opposing batting average from both sides...in the National League.)

And I hope we have a few more games like this; might lead to someone 'slightly' more important than a conditioning coach to be shown the door.

Randy Johnson is still rounding into form, and he has looked progressively better with each start. He'll probably finish with an ERA under 4. With the backing of the Yankee offense, he would have won 15+ games. Yesterday's 11 Runs would have been enough for him last night. I am glad he's gone. Vizcaino will not replace the 15 wins that you sent away. The prospects they got for him are little more than a bag of balls. I don't expect that any of them will ever make an impact with the Yankees.

I really like how the fans in RF call out the players names at the start of the Yankee games. I guess fans of a last place team need to do something to amuse themselves.
